Little disappointed with Super 8. Really really good setup with a pretty standard resolution. Shame. It was good, but it was very unbalanced.

Shirley, you didn't expect high definition from super 8?

I actually think I'm looking forward to this.

Then you're obviously deaf and can't hear how every muppet voice sounds off. Or too young, get off my lawn.

It's one thing to re-boot franchises with characters that look and act different. But having the same old looking Fozzie bear sound like a B-grade actor just pushes this into the uncanny valley. The original Muppet voice actors were just too damn good, creative, and unique, and left an indellible memory.

Sure you can get away with a 3/4 good Kermitt. But there are DOZENS of memorable Muppets...and every time a new voice is just the slightest bit off of the character it snowballs the derailing.

I don't think they can top the greatness of the old Muppet movie, even if they did have all the original voices. Funny, cute, and somehow touching, it made my childhood.

your intolerance of change condemns the muppets to the past though.

The guy who plays Fozzie has been doing the voice for 12 years now since Frank Oz moved on from the more time intensive voice work to roll around in his Bowfinger money.  Also, i have faith in Jason Segal.  He's just goofy enough to understand the muppet mentality.

I'm more concerned with the lack of Peppe in the fake trailers.

Not every character or franchise deserves immortality. Some were wonderful in their time, but don't need to be re-hashed.

Green Lantern was alright. I think some critics are being too harsh.
