Re: The Movie Thread - Squishy3 - 07-12-2011

Also the first teaser for it will be in HP7 part 2

Re: The Movie Thread - Maxon - 07-13-2011

Friend watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and gotta say that I enjoyed it.  I still wouldn't equate it to anything Pixar good, but it's alot better than some of the other animations out there with it's random and silly humor.

My favorite part was when they were having the ice-cream snowball fight and pulled out the Steve joke.

Holy crap, Godfather Part 2.

THOSE DE NIRO SCENES
THAT PACINO PERFORMANCE
THEM PLOT TWISTS

It was outstanding!

Now just never watch part 3, and you'll be filled with appreciation for the series.

Stop pulling his leg, there was never a part three.
Just like there never were any Matrix sequels.

Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 07-14-2011

Enter the Dragon was really dumb, but it was entertaining.

Re: The Movie Thread - Maxon - 07-14-2011

Warriors Way was entertaining, the whole ninja assassin in the American west thing was fun, but I hated that nearly everything was done on green screen or a very obvious studio set.  I understand they were trying for that unrealistic, kinda stylized look to it, but it just bugged me as I watched it.  Worth watching if you like all that crazy, CGI Wire Stunting fighting.

Re: The Movie Thread - Trace - 07-15-2011

The Man from Nowhere  was awesome, it's on netflix streaming if anyone cares to check it out.

Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 07-15-2011

Deathly Hallows Part 2 was pretty good, but I can't say if it's the best. Mainly because I think I've only seen each film once.  :-X

Things I've intentionally avoiding watching
- godfather 3
- matrix 3 (yes I didn't avoid 2)
- all three star wars prequels
- kingdom of the crystal skull
- any terminator after 2
- any aliens movie after A L I E N S

some of those were intentional, some just happenstance, but I feel lucky regardless.

Terminator 4 isn't bad, and Aliens 3 is just fun to watch to point out the errors and contradictions in the plot.

I'm probably going to roasted alive for saying the starwars prequels were not as bad as everyone says they are.  I actually really love the third one even.

And in defense of Crystal Skull, Aliens is a much better plot device than jewish ghosts, voodoo monsters, and undead knights.  Just saying.

Re: The Movie Thread - Maxon - 07-15-2011

I think most of the Prequel hate needs to be laid onto the first one, which was just extremely terrible.  They got better with the second, though Anakin was still pretty annoying, and the third I would agree isn't too bad.  I like it.  I don't think I'd watch is as much as say the original movies, but the third was alot better, even if it did have issues.

Crystal Skull is watchable also.  I think calling BS on aliens, but not calling BS on an ancient chest from God is kinda ridiculous.  I think if it just had some of the nonsense scenes like the nuked fridge and Shia acting like Tarzan, it would've been a better flick for it...

Qui Gon Jin was awesome though. And Harry Potter was amazing. And that Dark Knight Rises teaser... BANE!

I don't like T4 just for the simple fact that the entire series could have easily ended triumphantly at 2, as it encompassed everything that needed to be said regarding the plot, and, if I'm gonna be pretentious, the value of humanity.
