Watched Terminator and Up recently.

Sigh at McG.

Huzzah for pulling a few tears out of me, Pixar.

Re: The Movie Thread - Valentine Wiggin - 06-15-2009

watched revolutionary road this weekend, it was utterly depressing.

best movies i've seen lately are vicky christina barcelona, slumdog millionaire, rachel getting married, burn after reading, and the squid and the whale.  mostly been watching tv on dvd (my fav), which is even more awesome since i got netflix instant play on the 360.  finally finished battlestar galactica, great series but terrible ending Sad

The Birds of Paradise section of Planet Earth was so creepy.  Almost as creepy as the section on caves...

Saw "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" on TV the other day.

What a waste of film.

Re: The Movie Thread - Sponson - 06-21-2009

Princess Mononoke has a really beautiful soundtrack.
I wish the english dubbing would be on the same quality as spirited away.

Edit: I love how Miyazaki's movies have a deeper metaphor for life in his movies. Spirited Away: The transition from child to adulthood, and Princess Mononoke, the balance between technology and nature, between humans and animals.

Doesn't all anime have that same metaphor?  Most of them at least seem to...

I have the DVD, and on the extras, there's an interview with Rainn Wilson (the who also is on The Office) saying that he accepted because they said he would be acting with Owen Wilson, but instead, he got with his "worst acting, less funny brother" and was dissapointed

Re: The Movie Thread - cbre88x - 06-21-2009

Saw- Year One and Angels & Demons.

Year One had small funny moments..but it sucked..don't bother seeing. Plus Karth wouldn't like it because it has blasphemous undertones.

Angels & Demons was alright. It was very interesting, but you can tell they stretch facts....probably like the books.

Actually, I was planning on seeing this with my sister, knowing the puns about bible stories anyway. And then I remembered Micheal Cera and Jack Black were in it. So I remembered it wasn't going to be funny.

I wouldn't mind if it was actually funny, but doing it just to do it is just fucking retarded.
