Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 06-23-2009

Watching the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy  (the BBC series), and it's excellent.

Also: Peter Jackson's King Kong was excellent as well.

Transformers 2: Too many ball jokes, too much comical relief. 3 motorcycle autobots had one line then died. Mudflap and Skidmark: useless and overbearing.

I also saw this movie.

Plot: Meh, makes about as much sense as the first one. Which means it doesn't....at all.
Characters: Meh, I could care less if they died. No connection whatsoever.
Script: Even though there are too many testicle references, the script is much better this time around.
Special effects: It's Micky Bay, no use mentioning this
Ending: STUPID

I really feel like this is just a generic summer blockbuster. But the problem is, this is an action film, I'm supposed to be excited, and I didn't feel excited once throughout the entire film.

Unless you're a die-hard transformers fan, and I mean like you have the movie on Blu-Ray, DVD, Cassette, and several other versions, there is no point seeing this.

Overall rating: Skipable

Action films haven't been exciting since late 80s, early 90s. Or maybe it was because i was little at the time and everything impressed me

Re: The Movie Thread - zaneyard - 06-24-2009

personally I thought it was a fun movie
a bit confused during the first battle who was who, but w/e
as far as the plot making sense. it's a fucking movie. with fucking robots the transform into mother fucking vehicles. it's not going to make any sense unless you let your self live in the world of that movie.
that said, fucking robots that transform into fucking shit.

Apparently Transformers also has the biggest explosion involving real actors too. Shia's exact quote was along the lines of "Because Michael works with 10-12 cameras at a time you can't just throw a stunt guy in because it takes months to rig the stuff, only to realize that you're on one of the cameras."
i think actors should all do their own stunts, otherwise they should just go do plays at school
Yeah but then we'd have more unfortunate accidents like Bruce Lee Sad
Ummm...Bruce Lee didn't die doing a stunt.  He died from acute cerebral edema.  Now there are many rumors on how it happened (allergic reaction to Cannabis or a chemical in the muscle relaxant he took) but none of it had to do with a stunt or him doing something on a set.
