Yes. It's from Miyazaki, so it's good by definition.

Seen Year One 2 days ago.
Nothing of a great movie. Had its funny moments and was fun to watch overall... Nothing like most of the bad stupid humor we usually get, it was good stupid humor, I recommend it if you like this kind of movie.

Re: The Movie Thread - copulatingduck - 06-25-2009

Aztec Rex was a terrible, awful movie. Sad

110% accurate. Oh and it's not dinosaurs, just "thunder lizards"

Re: The Movie Thread - cbre88x - 06-25-2009

Saw Transformers. It wasn't bad per se. It was obviously an entertainment movie so it definitely pleased in the action department. There are just some poor editing choices. Scenes they could have cut out to make it shorter without killing the plot. Then again..I do enjoy seeing Megan Fox.

Re: The Movie Thread - Sponson - 06-25-2009

Howl's Moving Castle was even better the 2nd time I watched it.

Shawn of the Dead wasn't.

Fight scenes were the best. I was disappointed by the lack of "YOU'VE FAILED ME AGAIN, STARSCREAM." I liked that The Fallen was the voice of the original Megatron.

If this movie is anything like the last one, I will probably throw up later.

For serious.

Re: The Movie Thread - Radio Raheem - 06-26-2009

in transformers 1 any time where was action they were zoomed in like 2 feet away and cut the angle constantly to the point where i was just confused. not that it would have been good anyway but they even messed up the "good parts"

note: good being very very relative

Re: The Movie Thread - copulatingduck - 06-27-2009

Bad Taste: Pretty good, didn't quite live up to the hype but it was at least much much better than the first 5 minutes let on. I'm also now convinced NZ is full of nothing but incompetents

Dead Snow: Simply amazing, one of the best zombie films I've seen to date. Also has some AMAZING lines including such gems as "how single is she // very single // you think ill be able to slam it in her #2?"

Flight of The Living Dead: Outbreak On A Plane: whoa

I know exactly what you're talking about.  It's like going 75 mph and looking at a water tower in the distance and then looking at the shoulder.

Exactly.

They did lots of that in this one, but thankfully I didn't get there so late that I had to sit in the front row. It was still really annoying and you miss a lot of stuff, but meh.

Re: The Movie Thread - SBCrystal - 06-27-2009

Luin and I couldn't keep a straight face through this movie. We were in hysterics through the second half.
Mostly because we were seeing sexual innuendos where there really weren't any (says something about our dirty minds, I guess).

I wanna put my matrix in your all spark! Oh yeah.

I still remember when one of those twin robots were about to die, and I was all like, "Oh thank God, finally!", and then IT WASN'T DEAD and I was all like, "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU"

Re: The Movie Thread - Blues - 06-27-2009

Duck has fulfilled my need for wonderful B movies, I am pleased.

Also going to see Transformers. I figure since everything Karth likes is terrible on a general basis, the inverse must apply.

Bruce Campbell = King of B movies.

The Surrogates Trailer

Looks interesting.

I like the whole movie, but I get disappointed towards the end.  Not because I don't like it; it's because I get so comfy with their home life before the craziness at the end.  And I <3 Sophie in old-mode.
