We made transformers better with some sort of sexual innuendo with Megatron and the kid... and now I can't remember what it was. We almost lost it in theater though, worth it.

Otherwise, as a fan of the book, I was not let down by the movie. IT stayed close to the book, with the addition of some flashback scenes (they fit in well), and is worth seeing. The main actors (The Man and The Boy) were both very good at their roles.

Fuckin loved that book, super stoked to hear it finally came out.

But anyways, back to Megan Fox.  She's too hot for her own good.  I'd tap that so hard whoever could pull me out would be the king of england.

Re: The Movie Thread - Kor - 12-07-2009

Couple of flicks I recently saw:

Moon - Holy shit, Sam Rockwell was only a bit player in my mind until I saw this. Now, I just want more. In terms of comparison, Rockwell did a better job making me believe his solitude/misery then Hanks did in Castaway. Without giving too much away, the ending was incredibly satisfying.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Kid's book made animated feature, that had clever writing added to the original book's plot that jived well, and still delivered a moral message, even if it wasn't the same moral as the book. And who doesn't love watching over-the-top performances by Bruce Campbell and Mr. T? :p

Harry Brown - Can't say enough about this movie. Michael Caine gave an absolutely stunning performance. Never once did the mask slip during the playing of the role; Caine is still an underrated actor this side of the Atlantic, you must watch this film if you love to watch a character-driven plots that have a great sense of ethos.

Ninja Assassin - Saw this yesterday with my old man. As far as action/kung-fu/martial arts escapism goes, its worth a watch. The gore is laughably over done, but as an audience to this kind of film you're expecting it. People were saying this guy is the next Jackie Chan/Jet Li, and he's already ahead of the game in terms of having a modicum of acting ability(You almost believed he gave a shit about anyone other than himself breathing... almost).

I honestly felt a little sad at the end of Ninja Warrior. I feel like the bad guys won. An orphan betrayed the only father figure he ever had over somebody he never loved? Instead of it ending in some honorable battle, it just felt like a bunch of hummers rolled into an ancient training ground and gunned down a bunch of guys in cloth armor (obligatory quote about bringing a knife to a gun fight). It nearly felt like symbolism of some kind of how Westernization of foreign lands must feel for the occupants.

Now, I was probably the only person who actually got some kind of message out of this glorious hack and slash kind of movie. Real question though: how did a bunch of Hummers get up to a cliff on a mountain top? More importantly, how did nobody hear a train of Hummers coming up to their base? The ending felt really patched together, like they ran out of budget and threw together an ending. The beginning was really well done I thought, as I feel that would be an accurate modern reaction if somebody told you a ninja was after you.

Worth a rental if anybody hasn’t seen it. I would normally put spoiler warnings on this kind of post, but I seriously doubt anybody who sees this cares about the plot.

In Bruges made me very sad. Very depressing movie.
