Don't bother seeing Percy Jackson if you read the books, you will want to murder the screen. They changed it a lot but for the stupid.

wish i read this before i went yesterday afternoon.... WOW was it horrible! way to leave out 1/4 of the main plotline and the arch villain... bah i was upset - i enjoyed the books (gotta love 12 year old fantasy!)
[/quote]

Plus they turned the plot into an RPG quest and left out the basis for the love square that effects so much of the series.

Re: The Movie Thread - Wyrmidon - 02-23-2010

Watched Tae Guk Gi last night.  It's amazing. The main character is such a badass becoming seeming unrealistic. terribly sad and emotional movie as well. Although I do not recommend the movie if you are squeamish as it is gory (and not over-the-top gory, but realistic wartime gore). Feels like a Krubrick movie.

Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 02-26-2010

Planet of the Apes (the ONLY planet of the apes. There were no remakes) is great. It's a bit slow during the first half-hour, but once the apes show up, it gets really good.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember the woman in that movie being smoking hot.

Re: The Movie Thread - Wyrmidon - 02-26-2010

So I just finished watching Rube Goldberg's Revenge 4. Went into it not expecting much and it was not as good as the first three.  This was just corny as hell and the main female lead was a parakeet at her core. I was a bit disappointing with the deaths too. At least in the first three they were somewhat believable in that they are physically possible (at least from what I remember).

Gladiator was way more than I expected from a movie. I HIGHLY recommend seeing this.

I wasn't allowed to see R movies when I was 7. Well, now that I am 17 I am still not supposed to, but since I download all the sacrilegious movies I want to see these days my parents are none the wiser.

fixed.

Green Zone:

Not very subtle about delivering it's message.  There are parts where it's right on the money, and others where it's stupidly out of line.  Not a big fan of it's depiction of Special Forces.  I'm ok with it's depiction of the departments of State and Defense.  All in all a good movie.

The first 40 minutes of the movie will probably be the kid fapping to his english teacher. Although Mclovin as a super hero does sound hilarious

Re: The Movie Thread - copulatingduck - 03-14-2010

read the comic, movie doesnt sound like it'll explore any interesting concepts/questions but at least there'll be lots of ass-beatings

then again they might change the ending and gay what little bit i enjoyed of it
