so maybe it's just The Rescuers Down Under but I get the impression a lot of older disney movies seem to feature what we now commonly refer to as the "child predator"

Go on.  Gimme the deetz.  Some examples?

Re: The Movie Thread - copulatingduck - 03-29-2010

old creepy man wheezing and coughing maniacally while locking boy in a cage, kidnapping him and taking him into the middle of the desert "where nobody can hear [you] scream" and telling him "now you ain't getting out of here until you give me what I want boy!" And then after getting what he wants from boy, trying to ditch the body in a river full of crocodiles to throw off the authorities

not to mention The Rescuers mobilizing droves of forces all around the world to find the boy - wish our govt cared about people that much - like it was a god damn Amber Alert

Blockbuster by me is going out of business, so I stopped by and picked up Hurt Locker and District 9, both on blu-ray for $20

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three was ingenious. Really good heist movie.

I have one. Only it's a bathroom. And it only goes back to 1972. And you are only in 1972 when you are in the bathroom.

Re: The Movie Thread - Dtrain323i - 04-06-2010

My wife and I went and saw The Last Song on Friday night. When my wife said she wanted to go see it I started getting flashbacks to the notebook like I was a vietnam vet.

Things I took away from this movie:

Fortunately, Miley Cyrus gets slightly more attractive in wet t-shirts

Unfortunately, she's got a snaggletooth

Fortunately, the movie isn't that long

Unfortunately, the movie sucks

Fortunately, you will get laid after watching this movie with a girl

Unfortunately, you have to watch this movie.

Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 04-09-2010

So, I almost went to the 3rd screening of The Last Airbender last night, but decided not to at the last minute. Little did I know that M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN WAS IN THE FREAKING THEATER.

THE FREAKING DIRECTOR WAS IN THE THEATER.
