Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 05-30-2010

Letters from Iwo Jima was really sad.  :'(

Re: The Movie Thread - exanimo2 - 05-31-2010

I've heard that from multiple sources, but after watching it, I was disappointed that I didn't cry.  >Sad

I thought it was just okay.  :-X

If you want to experience some amazing emotions watch Nuovo Cinema Paradiso. I laughed and cried at the same time.

Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 05-31-2010

This movie is going to be amazing.

What's confusing about brandon routh playing an evil ex boyfriend who has special telekinetic powers granted to him through his veganism?

Re: The Movie Thread - HeK - 05-31-2010

Dead or Alive.

Rent it. Watch it in a single sitting without distractions.

Behold.

(Note, this is NOT the movie based on the video game of the same title. It is the Takashi Miike 'master piece'.)

(Additional note, this movie is graphic in nearly every way possible. If you choose to start watching it, you must finish it.)

Intro (slightly R-rated, NSFW): The Genius of Takashi Miike - Dead or Alive opening scene

You don't want to mess with the vegan powers.

Re: The Movie Thread - Surf314 - 06-01-2010

PoP wasn't terrible apart from the almost zero on screen chemistry and the paint by numbers action plot.

Re: The Movie Thread - Dtrain323i - 06-01-2010

Went and saw Robin Hood with the wife the other night. Wouldn't really call it a deep intellectual experience but it was entertaining. I do kind of want to buy a bow and arrow though. I can use it in the house and arrows are cheaper than gun ammo ($30 per 20 rounds of 10mm gets expensive after a while)

I really miss my bow. I wanted one when I was younger and still on the farm and sure enough, for a birthday one year, I got one. I was much older by that point and the bow was meant for someone weaker than myself; after a few rounds with it I'd actually cracked it. The draw strength was not enough and I was too scared to use it, in case it snapped while I was using it.

Shortly after that I got the stronger version of the same bow but the issue was still the same; I cracked that one, too. Sad

Speaking of Takashi Miike I watched Ichi The Killer last night for the first time. Easily the most fucked up movie I've ever seen.
