Went and saw Robin Hood with the wife the other night. Wouldn't really call it a deep intellectual experience but it was entertaining. I do kind of want to buy a bow and arrow though. I can use it in the house and arrows are cheaper than gun ammo ($30 per 20 rounds of 10mm gets expensive after a while)

I really miss my bow. I wanted one when I was younger and still on the farm and sure enough, for a birthday one year, I got one. I was much older by that point and the bow was meant for someone weaker than myself; after a few rounds with it I'd actually cracked it. The draw strength was not enough and I was too scared to use it, in case it snapped while I was using it.

Shortly after that I got the stronger version of the same bow but the issue was still the same; I cracked that one, too. Sad

longbow?

theyre kinda notorious for snapping in half, ive had 3 from 20 to 80 pounds, all have broken in half eventually

Yeah it was a longbow both times. I kind of prefer the way they look to anything else and they were cheap; I don't really want or need a compound bow since this was just for fooling around with. I had some nice sharp arrows though, put lots of holes in the fence. Next to the ones dad made with the .22

Dead or Alive.

Rent it. Watch it in a single sitting without distractions.

Behold.

Speaking of Takashi Miike I watched Ichi The Killer last night for the first time. Easily the most fucked up movie I've ever seen.

Ichi the Killer is good, though I think Gozu is more fucked up.  Over-The-Top Violence is always fun though.

I finally watched The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.  I've been meaning to watch it sooner, but never got around to it. Playing Red Dead Redemption really put me in the mood for a good western.

Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 06-01-2010

The Departed is really good so far.

+1 for attempting that epic movie. It's absolutely amazing, but the length is a bit daunting.

My favorite part is when the disorganized Italian demolition team first didn't blow up the bridge enough, then blew it up too much. That is why it appears to be raining wood for a few shots in a row.

Re: The Movie Thread - Radio Raheem - 06-01-2010

The Ecstasy Of Gold - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly [HD 16/9]

Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 06-02-2010

I mainly watched it because I've sworn to watch every Jack Nicholson movie ever before I die.

No rush, you've got a pretty good chance of outliving him.

Just being realistic man, he's a damn good actor but he's got a 55 or so year headstart on you.

Jack Nicholson rapes too:

Read it, and never think about "As Good As It Gets" the same way again.  It actually becomes awesome when you think about what Jack was doing during that time in his career.
