For real though, this game needs replays.


I was skating along at like 160km/h as Brute with the freshly purloined enemy flag and like 3 dudes in hot pursuit, so I call down a tac strike just ahead of me as I'm moving, and it lands directly on top of them, kills 'em all. My flag wasn't home, and there was a sniper camping the flag hallway. Guess who didn't get to cap it?   :'(

You know, for whatever reason I can't hit people with Huntsman to save my life in TF2, and I'm only marginally better with the flaregun, but I swear to god if I don't pull off the most incredible 1200 meter blind kills as a matter of course.

Dude is running with our flag, and hauling his ass off probably doing just about 250km/h, I was already on the enemy's side of the map harassing the shit out of their defenders when I see him coming in my direction, so I stare at the flag icon through the hill I'm behind for a second to gauge him, pop up, snap right and drop a heavy disc in the direction of the flagger and take off after him.

After about 6 agonizing seconds he ski ramps up the hill and blue plates my heavy disc in midair on the other side, drops the flag and I swoop in and snag it a second later.

That was enough for me to seriously contemplate hooking my old 2nd PC up and getting a HMDI passthrough capture card.

At that point i litterally dead stopped while 2 other guys were chasing me because i was so confused

Takes so long to earn things in the game.  After generally upgrading the classes I liked, I've started saving up to get mines for the Doombringer.  Up to 40k after the past week of playing and will take me at least another week just to get mines.  Stuff like that shouldn't be the near same level as guns I think in terms of XP.

Brute is where it's at anyway.

I've got it at like 70% something unlocked, just maxed out my armor, heavy spinfusor, Frac 'nades and heavy shield, everything else is full upgrade - 1 tier. Besides the games my team has lost I don't think I've ever not been #1 on the scoreboard, so brutal.

Also, having G510 lets me bind G keys to the VGS messages, I've got every global taunt hotkeyed and ready, although Shazbot gets the most spam by far. It's so easy to rage people in this game and have them act like morons so you can drop them one by one.



Brute, with Nova Colt, Heavy Shield Pack, Frac nades with fully upgraded Bounty Hunter and fully upgraded Potential Energy is an unstoppable juggernaut.

What's that? You're shooting me with your spinfusor? WHY THANK YOU FOR THE EXTRA SHIELD AND JETPACK NOW EXCUSE ME WHILE I KILL YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS.


Shoot the ground at my feet with spinfusor, I can propel myself to 75% max velocity with the proper angle, which is enough to overtake most medium classes and unaware lights and I get almost 60% of my energy bar back for about 18% of my overall HP, which is nothing considering the raw offensive power of the class + the effective HP pool I've got with the shield.

Skiing is so damned simple too, on most CTF maps Brute can get moving top speed before light classes out of the spawn gate, it's kinda funny.

This isn't the only game that would be improved by it, it's REALLY difficult to build any sort of community feel when there's no easy way to talk to the other players. You might as well be playing against really good bots offline.

^This.  I've played with just random pubs, and I've played with friends over Vent/Skype.  Makes a WORLD of difference.  With a bit of easy communication, our team is WAY more effective (For Capture the Flag, at least).  Need help in the Gen room?  Just ask for it and you get it.  You have a friend in mid-field, and the enemy flag carrier is headed directly towards him?  Let him know.  I can sort of understand why they don't allow it in a F2P game (to avoid mic spam and such), but even if they just enabled it with VIPs, it would make a world of difference, IMO.

Not really. I play literally almost everyday, and have only played with Karth in BRBU. I know I've seen Kirby online too the odd time. While this may be the case now, it doesn't mean it can't change. Biggest knock on the came, community wise, is that it doesn't have built-in voice com.  When I play with friends though, we just jump into Skype/Vent, and it makes the game 1000x more enjoyable.

It's like Unreal Tournament on dirtbikes.  There may be some balance issues, but looking past those, it's an amazingly fun shooter. The core mechanics are just so damn enjoyable.  Hope to see you guys on.
