Also, its convenient that my special edition (not the tourney edition) fight stick for my PS3 works on my PC

no, that's stupid without an invulnerable quick recover like in BlazBlue or GG. Well, it's not invulnerable in GG or BB, but you can control which direction you roll to leave your opponent guessing.

If you got a super off of any trip, this game would be ridiculous. I can teach you how to combo into any character's super or ultra, you just have to learn to hit confirm it. Example, Ryu: His bread and butter into ultra is either an anti-air weak dragon punch, two quarter circles forward +3punch, and voila, you hit ultra. Another BnB is forward +heavy punch, into heavy dragon punch, focus cancel that (hit focus attack directly after you hit with the heavy dragon punch, dash forward IMMEDIATELY), and then do two quarter circles forward with 3 punch.

And just played my first ranked match a while ago.  Had a close first round and got perfect'd the second round.  Pretty depressing

But I managed to win my next two fights.

Its like a 1000 tournaments going on at the same time. When you win you play against some one else who won the first round, then if you make it into the finals you play against someone else that made it into the finals. As you win you earn grade points and if you win the finals the grade points turn into Championship points that determine your ranking, or something close to that.
