Wait, so is this an official confirmation? No securom in the Steam version of this DLC?
That's correct; the activation limit is not present in the Steam version of General Knoxx. I do not know if we will be able to apply this to the previous DLCs, but Knoxx does not contain it on Steam. There was a large amount of response to this, and we took steps to address the concern

I bought the new dlc Big Grin

Sounds like a proper DLC pack to me. Next time I feel like playing, I'm buying it.

Level cap increase among other things. Don't remember the full details.

Trailer says a bunch: http://store.steampowered.com/app/5617/

Also this: http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/The_Se...eral_Knoxx
Quote:    * Continuation after completion of the original Borderlands story arc
    * Can be played on 1st and 2nd playthrough
    * Increased level cap to 61
    * A new skill point for each level up (11 new skill points)
    * New gear: Weapons, Shields, Class Mods (up to level 61)
    * New environment with several new areas
    * More animated NPCs
    * New enemies
    * Three new vehicles: the Monster, the Racer, and the Lancer
    * 44 new missions
    * New Achievements and Trophies
    * New, larger Crimson Lance Chests (holding twice the amount of gear as Red Chests)
    * "More Scooter" (Vehicles and character)
    * Increased backpack capacity
    * Pearlescent rarity weapons fixed, now they become Orange rarity, however there is also a new cyan colored rarity now called Pearlescent.

*and links into steam.

I'm pissed Fallout 3 retail doesn't, I ended up buying it twice.

I would actually skip it. A friend said that both of them are not really that great.
Zombie Island was fun but short, Moxxie was ehhh because all it added was a stash and five arenas, General Knoxx added a crapton of stuff and has been fun so far but I haven't beaten it yet. If the retail box is $15-20 for all three, it'll definitely be worth it. Remember, it can't be more than $30 or it'll never sell, so it'll probably be worth it. Especially if they drop the DRM on the first two.

Also, thirdhand recommendations = fail.
It doesn't have to link into Steam, as long as it detects any Borderlands installation it should be good. The cracked versions work just fine with a Steam copy, so I don't know why the retail version wouldn't. It's not 100% necessary to be able to input the keys into Steam and download them through that. They'd appease the most people if they did it so it works with any Borderlands installation since then it'd work with the retail copy, D2D, Impulse and Steam.
I just want to not have to keep track of the disks. Not that it matters because I already bought all three of them on steam :x
