If you are trying to engage targets beyond Medium range with an AI max you're doing it wrong
So double Blueshift
[/quote]Try before you buy, figure out what you like. Blueshift has highest DPS in most settings, but my personal taste would probably lean me towards the Cosmos because I hate COF bloom and reloading.

Anyone got stats on the new AV/AA Rocket Launcher?  Hoping it's damage isn't equivalent to the current lockons.

According to the spreadsheet, it does 1150 damage versus 1500 for the other lockons, 1700 for the dumbfires, and 2000 for the deci in its current incarnation.

Compared to the lockons, you can move faster while you're aiming it, its got faster reload by a half second, a faster projectile, also less projectile drop but that doesn't matter since you can't dumbfire it. Same ammo capacity, so significantly less overall un-resupplied damage potential.

I haven't tried it out myself, I was planning to last night and never got around to it.

So it seems like its just a really handy "jack of all trades" type of lock-on weapon. Doesn't do enough damage to really be better than the other stuff but its quicker/faster to use and works in more situations, which is useful. I bet having a whole squad use these things can be really really lethal - you wouldn't have to worry about changing loadouts for AA/AT, you can act fast, and be prepared for all situations you'd run into as a heavy even if you can't damage as much.

Plus, to the guy getting locked on, as far as he knows it could be a more high damage rocket locking on, which is useful for getting air off your back faster.

The faster flight time in particular would make it more useful as an AA weapon, but the decreased damage means something you could kill with 2 standard AA missiles would now take 3. The decreased reload time doesn't make up for the increased shots required, though. I'm reserving judgement until I see it in action.

Playing the way we do though this might be worth it.  A full squad of people focus firing could really down stuff quickly.

Playing the way we do though, if we all switch to mass AA/AV fire, there's always a terminal nearby to switch loadouts between the two, so it might not be worth spending more money on.

Has the same VS LMG info as the spreadsheet but arranged by rankings. Handy for making a quick call on your next purchase.

Tested nyx with compensator and Foregrip. Compensator appears to reduce horizontal variation by about 60% with no noticeable effect on vertical recoil. Compensator appears to reduce vertical recoil by about 17.5%.

(Left - Compensator only, Center - No mods, Right - Compensator + foregrip)

Certed for compensator on Flare, disappointed. Will cert for foregrip next.

So still looks like the race for "Best VS Gun" is still more or less a 3 way tie between Orion, Pulsar and Flare.

I just got the ursa, need to mod it.

Also I did some maths based on this sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?...utput=html

Name      Dam/mag        dps     ttk(seconds)  dps diff from quasar
Quasar    8350(12525)  938.20    1.07                  0.00%
Nebula      7150(10725)  953.33    1.05                +1.61%
Cosmos  12525(18704)  938.20    1.07                 0.00%
Blue Shift  6680(10020)  976.61    1.02               +4.09%

The ttk and dps stats seem to indicate that there is an extremely small(negligible) difference in damage output between the guns with a ttk difference of .05 seconds. So looking at the other stats It would seem that the Cosmos wins with largest magazine, highest damage per mag, lowest minimum COF, lowest min/max COF in every category. It's only downsides are .05 second slower ttk and 11% slower bullet speed.

A nice gentleman on the forums made up some handy recoil plots on most of the weapons.

Simulation tool to see how different weapons work against different vehicles.

putting more than three bullets in a row on any target with that thing is a challenge.

Also, no Bulldog, no Fury, no Riflegrenades, makes me sad since thats what I normally use.

The author and others have stated that the simulation tool is flawed for the shredder for a number of reasons. Apparently aircraft and vehicles have some innate resistance to it that depends on range. The accuracy of the weapon is difficult at long ranges.

Fucking Orion. I see that better dps bullshit too often. It's just a bad stat to quantify anything in PS2. Pro-rated dps based on short trigger pulls/%accuracy@ranges is far less misleading, and gives a better perspective of a weapons actual output.

This is true. I was working on the assumption that everyone here can use this data alongside the other statistics to make their choice.

I would like to do charts like that but I don't know what criteria to use. What length trigger pull? Trigger pulled for x seconds or x shots? What accuracy %? Average for the player base or average for best players?

For now, how about Damage per bullet?

the colors you use make it nearly impossible to tell from the key which one is which for some guns. NS-11A and Corvus on the first graph you just posted, for example. Dashed lines is better than the similar colors you were using in the first set of graphs though.
