For example: I put together my build 3 years ago. I overpaid for the graphics card, a lot I might add. But it was one of the best out at the time, and I wanted the best, right? Well, now I can get a card that offers the same performance for almost less than half the price I originally paid, and my card is finally starting to stagger on newer releases. I should've done a little more research and found a card that fit my niche better. Fortunately, my processor, mobo, and RAM are all in good hands for the future.

And just a footnote, 32GB of RAM is beyond overkill. The very most you could use in a game is probably 16, and even that is overdoing it. I've got 8GB and I've never used all of it in a game.
3 years ago, so your card lasted 3 years. isnt that pretty good?  If you spent 500 or 600 on a card that lasts 3 years, I think most people spend more then that on their car in 3 years. Minus Gas, and just maintaining the car, such as check ups, tires, fluids, spark plugs, gaskets, battery, Insurance.

I can afford 500 to 1000 bucks every 3 years if I HAD to.

Someone said "You can never have to much RAM" O_o

Looking over that link you added, I can afford the 3600 dollar build O_o
[/quote]

Listen to the man himself

Though even the "Exceptional" build is overkill, it's far more worth its price than the "Monstrous". Diminishing returns and whatnot. One thing I would definitely splurge on is a SSD drive, those things are fucking magic.

It's true that you can never have too much RAM, but there is such a thing as having RAM you'll never use. I'd be shocked if you ever used even 8 GB to its fullest potential in a video game, let alone running other processes in the background.

I actually don't really know what's a good length for video cards considering I've been through three different tiers of cards in the last 6 years. A low-tier (the lowest of the low, I might add), a mid-tier, and my current high-tier card. I'd listen to Hek on this one.

Hooyah, I did not notice that, I laughed when I read that.

Keep in mind I suffer from PTSD and I do go to the therapist. So mental health adviser at the VA. Check.

I am going to a friends how tomorrow and going to be going over the parts again and buy them. So I will see how that goes, and when I do buy it Ill post it up here and keep updating it. You guys can Lol at me for being dumb and what not, all in all, Money is money, there will always be more and more to be made. I dont want you guys to think that I will be starving while playing this machine. I want it to be uber, I want it to be clean, I want bitches to think I am a virgin and I want the internet to be jealous or think I am nuts and not smart for this build, either way.

you get more value from upgrading over time. Both money wise and building a more robust knowledge of your machine and how it works.

I can agree you have money to burn but so did i when i rebuild my computer. I could have spent $1000 on it but only spent about $450. Why? Because to get the specs i wanted i would only have to spend that much. I have a GTX 560Ti which is going on 2 years and should last for at least another before i feel it becomes outdated.

Simply put dont go and buy the diamond bike, buy the one that suits you best and preforms all the tasks you require of it.
My rig can do most of what you want and cost about $1000

Also not trying to totally demean what you want in your computer but i would never spend more than $1500 on a computer unless you actually need that much processing power or ram to run simulations or something you will probably never use it to its full potential and it will be a terrible waste.

Best of luck with your part picking and future build

Give us a final part list before you buy. Also just because, here are a bunch of different cases I like. Make your computer look as cool as you want it to.

Looks like military gear. Comes in gunmetal, olive, and white.

Rugged, massive, and made with quality materials throughout. I have the predecessor to this case and the only bad thing I can say about it is that it gets annoying to carry around something that massive every time I move my computer.

Slightly smaller relative of the above case. Less flashy, more restrained design.

This thing looks pretty sweet.

And now, for the refrigerators minimal cases:

Lian Li cases are well made and using an optical drive won't ruin the look of it.

I like the texture of the faceplate.

Another classy case. This one also comes in a windowless version.

Also, 2/3 of my monitors are this monitor. No complaints.

My general estimates of lifespan of parts

CPU/Mobo/Ram - 2-3 years. Given the pace of advancement, I've always upgraded all 3 at the same time. New CPUs usually require new mobos which require new RAM. I generally buy above the mean in the sweet spot before the dollar per value starts to ramp up.

Graphics card - 2-3 years, closer to the 2 end. It's not uncommon to upgrade a vid card to squeeze some more time out of a cpu/mobo/ram. While this could change due to more games being CPU limited these days, graphics innovations continue to come out and you generally don't get to turn on all the super physx/bloom/bling with a 3 year old card.

case - 5 years or more. given this will last multiple builds, get as quality as you can afford.

PSU - goes with case. go top shelf

monitors - 5 years or more. get as big and as nice as you can. My 2nd monitor is a dell that I've had for ...maybe 8 years?

keyboard / mouse - as long as you can without them breaking or getting too grimey. Generally, 4 years or more. don't skimp, this is what you will be touching every day.

hard drives - 6+ years. the primary drives you get today will be repurposed as backup drives when you need something bigger/faster at the 3-4 year mark, so get quality, but don't overkill.

stereo - I've had this cambridge soundworks for....20 years. At the time I bought it the only thing I'd ever spent more money on was a car. Then again, I love love music. (btw cambridge soundworks got bought out and is kinda mediocre these days)

headphones - these grados are probably 5 years old. for 60 bucks. grado makes nicer models if you want to splurge, but these sound great.

optical drives - these are so cheap who cares?

-----

tl:dr - splurge on whatever you want, except CPU/mobo/ram/vid card. you are going to replace these the quickest, so getting a step or 2 down from the top level is going to give you all the horsepower you need without overspending.

Those fans you ordered are the wrong size.

The case does not have mounting holes for a 200mm fan, just 230mm and 120mm ones. If you want the case to glow red, buy some cathode tubes or LED lights. I have red lights stuck all over the inside of my HAF 932 and it looks great.

Other than that, all the other parts should play nice together.

I bet you're one of those people who would buy a Lambo and then put 24in wheels and some camo or animal print on it.

Number one, I would not buy a lambo and two... wow, you literally described my Truck. Oddly enough... Its Tiger camo print...

Youre good.

In anycase, I will takem back, the Case has a channel to directly push air to the GPUs so I gotta get some smaller ones.

looks like a good build, although it is still a bit overkill with 2 780s and 32 gb of ram but at least you spent wisely instead of extravagantly.
You should not need to put any real money into that computer for 3 years or so, and with those specs and proper overclocking and cooling  probably closer to 4 years

I would double check just to be sure. The case you have on that list is an HAF 932, which is what I have. It only has a 230mm fanblowing in the general direction of the GPU area. The newer HAF X case, which looks very similar but has slightly different features actually has apart for channeling air directly onto the GPUs. It would be a bummer if you ordered a case different from the one you think you ordered.

Well I actually did not directly buy any ram, There was two combo deals. One for the Processor and 2 stick of ram (16gb) and the other combo was for 2 780s and 2 sticks of ram (16)... also 2 ingame items for never winter and 2 copies of the new Batman game... Which literally makes no sense... I would have thought since they made the combo deal it would make the little bonus gifts more sensible. When I start streaming Ill just use one copy as a giveaway or something or sell it. Who knows.

Well, I think you are right, my friend told me that he didnt think I would even need more fans unless I was overclocking, which I probably wont be at first, I Need to learn to do it, and do it safely. If they do not work with the case, could I "Mod" the case to accept the fans? I could always easily send them back for different ones, so not a huge deal.

This is what the the fan specs are, I am not 100 percent sure how to read it though.

Cooling System
Front: 230 x 30 mm red LED fan x 1, 700 RPM, 110 CFM, 19 dBA
Side: 230 x 30 mm standard fan x 1, 700 RPM, 110 CFM, 19 dBA (support 120 x 25 fan x 4)
Top: 230 x 30 mm standard fan x 1, 700 RPM, 110 CFM, 19 dBA (support 120 mm fan x 3 or 120 mm x 1 + 230 x 30 mm x 1)
Rear: 140 x 25 mm standard fan x 1, 1200 RPM, 60 CFM, 17 dBA (support 120 mm fan x 1), 35,000 hours life expectancy

Esp  (support 120 mm fan x 3 or 120 mm x 1 + 230 x 30 mm x 1)
Does that mean it will support 3 120mm fans
or
120mm and a 230 mm fan?  (I would have to remove the 230x30 fan and put in the supported fans or is it possible to modify the case accept the fans I have.

Well, both. You can put in an extra 120mm fan next to the 230mm fan. You can also replace that 230mm fan with 2 120mm fans.

Here's the layout in what should be an easier to follow format:

Top: The standard 230mm fan with an open mounting point for an extra 120mm fan. The 230mm fan can also be replaced by 120mm fans for a total of 3 possible 120mm fans.
Side: Either the standard 230mm fan or up to 4 120mm fans.
Rear: Either the standard 140mm fan or a single 120mm fan.
Bottom: No standard fan, but there are mounting holes for a 120mm fan.
Front: One 230mm fan. Don't think you have any options there.

I can't imagine how you could possibly mod the case to add the 200mm fans you purchased without it being detrimental to both cooling ability and aesthetics. You really don't need to mess with the fans on the case though. I doubt you would notice any difference in temperatures if you add more fans to the case. If you feel like you must add more cooling capacity to the computer, get this fan to do a push/pull set up on the CPU cooler alongside the stock one. If you just want more red glow, I highly recommend getting 3 or 4 of these.

Also, if you're serious about your truck's paint job, you are obligated to post pictures of it.

I was goofin on the truck, I should paint it tiger stripe just cause. I have a 2001 Ford F150, a VW Cabrio and a 1999 Honda prelude.

As far as the fans.... --- im gonna use gizzoogle.

Ahem**

As far as tha fans, I'ma wait until they git here n' peep tha configuration of tha case ta peep what tha fuck I can do. Ill put all dat shiznit together n' peep what tha fuck tha temps are. I'ma probably return tha 2 hustlas n' IF i need mo' fans, Ill git tha ones you recommended. Y'all KNOW dat shit, muthafucka! I added both tha Fans n' Cathode ta mah wishlist.

Thanks fo' layin up tha specs by tha way. I kinda figured dat is what tha fuck it meant but it straight-up cleared it up.

After dis thang be assembled n' locked n loaded ta go I be goin ta need ta figure up dis internizzle problem I be having.

I be currently buildin mah house... I also live up in dis house. In any case tha only ISPs dat is available ta me is Brighthouse (Kinda) n' AT&T U-verse (18 down n' 1.5 Up)

Da brighthouse issue is, 10 muthafuckin years ago dis doggy den burnt down n' tha county marked tha lot as empty, also I be thinkin they may have thangs servicin a doggy den dat aint done yet fo' realz. Also they is not knowledgeable most of tha time when I rap ta em. They don't know difference between a MB n' a Mb which is annoying.

I be plannin on streaming, I be thinkin I mentioned dat before, But if AT&T is mah only option will 1.5Mb UP be phat enough ta stream on twitch, biatch? I be thankin it is ghon be if I lower tha resolution n' lower tha bitrate ta like 400 or something
