It was one of the first things put up on XBL as charged downloadable content, they charged $5 for armor for your horse, that did absolutely nothing other than look cool. It would be like if all the custom skins and models on FPS Banana cost money.

Anyway, I hope this means crisis averted, having to pay extra would suck balls.

Didn't a bug in the coding also mean you could stash as much loot as you wanted on your horse because Bethesda effectively allowed you to "equip" stuff on the horse but put no limit on the weight he could carry? Given how I played the game, that would have been pretty sweet.

The only reason they have to charge on xbox is because Microsoft's GREED is unimaginable.

Yeah Gabe said somewhere that free (major)updates like this one for the xbox is not in MS model and that Valve has to charge something for it even if it's 1 buck.

One thing that could be done on the Xbox would be 4 person split screen co-op not just 2.

I think that is more of a technical barrier than a software one. I mean, 4 screens means you are rendering everything 4 times right? Also, if 4 people are in different parts of the map it is of course having to have all parts of the map those people are in at onec instead of using swelltastic map optimizations Valve put in place for us.
