Spy ones will be rare because all too often when you kill someone as a spy, even if an event-chat type thing is triggered, you were disguised in which case the spy will yell out something like "BONK!" or "Snipe THAT you frickin' coward!"

I really think the Ambassador needs to be tweaked  Earlier, it took me three hits to kill a Sniper.  One headshot crit and then two the body and I was right nearby to get those body shots due to the accuracy loss between shots. 

No way a sniper or anyone will hold still for more than a second after taking the damage of the crit headshot.  Doesn't it only take like three hits from a normal revolver to kill a sniper and there's no damage loss from hitting the body?  Sure it doesn't have the range and it has abit of that lead to it, but seeing that it shoots faster with no accuracy loss, it doesn't seem to make the Ambassador all that viable.  I think the 20% less damage to body should be removed or something.  It still has that slower firing and accuracy loss between shots which should be enough of a trade off for it.  I see more spy's end up using it up close anyways which makes it suck compared to the revolver.

I think they should just rework the Ambassador into something completely different. Like fires super slow but does a grip of damage. If it's supposed to be some giant cannon thing it's kinda retarded with its piddly damage Sad

The ambassador should just heavily reward head shots.  I bet the "theme" it's going for is doing some crazy assassin head shot kills.  If you run up and blow someone's brains out you should get a kill or almost kill.  If you miss  you should not be able to have a good follow up.

My vote is to tweak it so it stays the same but has a massive head shot damage close range (about 250-275 damage) and a rapid fall off to about 100 damage at range.  Then keep the accuracy cool-down.

I agree.  As of right now, getting the headshot really isn't worth it enough to work around the 20% damage loss to body shots, compared than taking three straight shots from the revolver...And I kinda hated the revolver before the update lol  The Ambassador needs to practically kill them with the headshot so that the next hit from the gun kills them, no matter what hits them.  It's the only way to make it useful.  It just has way too much negative and the plus isn't all that great.

if you want the ambassador to be a really viable killing weapon then spys shouldnt backstab or cloak. 1shot headshot kills + cloak + bacstab + disguise? really?

I figured it out:  Can't be disguised while ambassador is equipped, headshots are 300 damage from point blank with rapid falloff to 100 damage at range.  Ambassador gets a wicked animation for taking off mask and whipping it out.  All else would be the same.  Then it would truly be a hand cannon and the face stab equivalent, plus you could feel like a badass taking off your mask and pulling out your gun to blow someone's face off.

250-275 damage? Really?

The Ambassador has body penetration and better accuracy than the revolver in all circumstances. Even with the "cooldown" it's much more accurate than its counterpart.

All else being equal, the Ambassador would do just fine with 70-85 damage for a headshot. Understand that the first shot you get is perfectly accurate, and the guaranteed crit maintains the 70-85 damage even at long distances.

Even right now, this gun is the perfect counterpart to the spy's health-viewing ability. If I see someone in the red, they are going to die, no matter how far away they are.

250-275 damage, even with the falloff you suggested, requires a MUCH slower firing speed, or even a one-shot clip. But I still don't like the idea of the Spy being able to one-shot 8/9 classes from the FRONT at close range. No, thank you.

When i was doing achievements, one popped up saying you have 10/15 of this achievement. The icon was a pokemon human character wtf???

Edit: The achievement was "Point Breaker"

Meh I haven't even played with it yet.  I just feel like it is meant to be a sort of "assassination" weapon.  In which case it sounds like it's in need of some tweaks.

But to counter loqutus, if you made the ambassador "aim based" instead of being behind it would still require some skill, and if you tweaked it so you can't use it while disguised your victim will have enough time to counter if they are paying attention, so it could be balanced that way.

It has a tendency to display people's sprays instead of the icon for the achievement.

When you suggest disabling disguise (and obviously, cloak) in order to fire a weapon, you take away the point of giving the weapon to the spy. What you get instead is a scope-less sniper rifle that has no charge-up. Not balanced, imo.
