Yeah I don't think it's the resolution.  I firmly blame Vista ;P.  Getting a better processor would be good, but depending on your socket, that may or may not be practical...

I'm pretty sure I have an AM2..which all the AMD 64 X2s use.

We'll have to play this all night every night for at least the first month.

Somehow I doubt you're going to need to upgrade your computer a ton to run L4D...  Also yay for AM2 slot, you can get a 6000+ for $100 these days.

I wouldn't bother. It'll probably put the same amount of stress on your machine as TF2..maybe a little more. It's not going to be a system hog, but it'll be CPU heavy simply because the number of enemies on screen.

Also, since it's supposed to be designed for much smaller groups, I'm pretty sure we could just run it off one person's machine. But yea, if your ping in #2 is ok, I don't see why anything would change if we just changed the game to L4D.

I get a really weird connection from your server duck, but it's tolerable. I'm glad everyone is volunteering to make a server for L4D..gettin' me excited.

Also..if I did buy a 6000+, would a 3rd party heatsink work to cool it or would I need more of a cooling solution?

That interviewer is ridiculous. It's as if he feels the need to maintain interactivity so he just places random nods, shocked looks and cries of "awesome!" and "wow!" and "amazing!" arbitrarily throught Doug's answers. Funny, though.

Basically, I don't think there's any way I could possibly be more excited for this game. Every little titbit that gets revealed just gets me that little bit harder.

Also, was browsing the L4D section on the Steam forums and there was a thread about recreating classic movie scenarios in community maps. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind but I'm gonna say that's pretty much the best idea I've ever heard and yet another reason I'm bouncing off the walls with anticipation for this game.
