Planetside Saturday - 9/16

I'll either be late or not available saturday I guess I'll start trying it now to make up for it .

Well I was gonna try to get in on this.  Touched Planetside when it first came out, but didn't have that great of a PC or internet connection then I believe, so it would be cool to try it again if it's going strong at all still. 

Problem I'm having is that after doing the download, the launch pad won't open.  The tab is down there for it, but nothing comes up when I click it and the downloader just says "Loading Graphics" forever.  Not sure what to do about that unless I get my new PC by Saturday.

Huh, well the Trials are definitely capped to BR 4 anyways.  Also everyone just has superfast mechs, so trying to use a MAX sucks =<

MAXs seem to be pretty good for close quarters stuff, like when you're taking over a base.

In the open I wanna either have a big tank/plane or be invisible

Not sure if you know this, but if you autorun (q) in a MAX you go fast

Also, who said the cap is rank 4? My banned account was rank 5

Huh, must be a larger xp difference then, coz' I swear I killed soooome things and didn't level.  I bet there's proooobably somewhere to check that stuff even c.c'

Make sure you run LaunchPad.exe in win98 compatibility mode, that's what did it for me. Also don't try to launch it through steam.

You rank should not be capped, just after you do all the training missions in sanc it should give you enough XP to be around BR4, BR25 is the max.

Infiltrator (Invisible Guy) is a very hard thing to master, you have no armor, and have to crouch walk (near-invisibility) in any sort of battle. If a base has the "interlink" benefit, you will show up on radar whenever you move, crouch walking or not. Deloyable turrets/Motion Sensors will only see you if you aren't crouch walking.

The cap is 6.  Gaining levels after 4 takes a looooot more time.  Go to the player tab to see your progress to the next rank.

I couldn't find the player tab.  Also I got 3k+ BE and didn't get to BR 5 yet =<.  MAX suits kinda suck, you still die really fast to heavier infantry.  But they're about all I can use until I have some more cert points for the stuff I want =<.

As I said earlier, the trials are probably using a backdoor to get into the game since the trials & reserves were canceled a while back

Thats my theory at least, since eschatos got suspended for doing nothing. At least it lasts long enough to take a look at the game.

Back during reserves I fucking loved infiltraitor.  The thrill of sneaking inside of a hotbed base right past an enemy spawn, hacking enemy vehicles, captureing something right under the enemy's nose... ah, my kind of playstyle.  Espionage!
