here's what he replied with

"I don't like them"

Well to be honest I don't. But I would change services, except that'd be way more expensive. Right now I'm a family add-on to the plan so I'm about $10 a month. It's not that I can't afford to be on a different service, it's just that I don't really see it as that big of a deal to waste the extra money on.

What're opinions on blackberries? Good or bad?

oh wait
We get it. You love Canada and think it's just the best place in the world. Go make a thread about it and be useless there.

Back on topic. If you're want a smart phone on AT&T that's not an iPhone you're probably going to end up with a Blackberry. You might look into the HTC Aria running Android, but from what I understand, AT&T blocks users from installing 3rd party applications on it.
mission difficult slaps down the shit like its nobodys business

Unless you want decent coverage outside of Alberta, BC and GTA..... or any really decent handsets. They are still the cheapest and offer the best customer service.

The contract AT&T has with Apple ends this year, so I have no doubt that Apple will approach other services. But they've already approached Verizon twice and got turned down.
So yeah... after looking into it, I'm probably gonna get a droid, but should I wait for the Samsung Captivate (some Galaxy S model), or go with the Aria? I'll probably wait for reviews on the captivate to see if it's worth it.
the Aria is ok for a $99 phone
The samsung is pretty good, it has a nice screen, good battery life and write a decent camera. I've read it has some GPS issues and samsung can slack quite a bit with android upgrades. It's been rooted though so you might be able to solve all those problems by installing a custom rom like cyanogen, this well also removes the ugly iphone-like skin samsung made.

I really like HTC's phones right now but I have no idea if AT&T offers any of the HTC high end models. Also, if you care about being able to hack your phone, stay away from motorola as they lock down the bootloader really too much.

Just don't get the Samsung 4G Epic from Sprint.
