I too called the central office, but I was told the room block is NOT AVAILABLE until TOMORROW that means mumble tonight at 10:45pm CST, assume a midnight EST release. I have no idea how you were able to get a room, also the rooms will show as 'booked' if they are not released yet. It could be not all of the rooms were blocked off.

Forum posts on ACEN's website show that no one has been able to book yet, they have not made facebook or twitter announcements.

Have mine secured.
Called back in after Caff called me. Central office thought that they couldn't book, but after some insisting they found they could. Got a double, but asked about suite availability. They said there still seems to be some available (although Caff's should be enough imo)

Anyone interested in trying to setup a group badge discount this time?

If we get 10 people in a group, we save $2 per badge. If we get over 20, it's $5 off each.

Problem is that a single person must purchase all the badges at once, and all the badges will be shipped to them.
We have to individually reimburse them.

Im ok with that - I already have my badge, but if enough people want in we can do that
I have a group setup. The key is 'getin' and I will add admins as needed.
Got a new double at the con rate, canceled my old full-price one. Booked it for Thursday-Sunday but I'm not sure if I can arrive on Thursday this year so I might have to modify it to Friday-Sunday down the line.

Edit: Also joined the badge group.
just reserved a king, first step towards actually getting their this year.

excalipur from the goon group has also booked a vip suite
Just reserved a Plaza suite Thu-Sun.

I got a double for Thu-Sun, looks like the VIP suite is available since they offered me to upgrade at a low price of $300 something per night.
I got a room with a King Bed, because all of the doubles are gone Sad

How does that Group thing work?  Will it all be bought at once?

Yes and shipped to one address to be distributed at con
Which does mean that someone will have to pay up front and get reimbursed individually.
