WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO VERSIONS?

The Wii U and 3DS versions have different stages and modes made specifically for that platform. The Wii U stages focus on console iterations of the franchises and the 3DS version will have mobile game stages. They share several stages between them though. You can also customize your controls and share them between versions. Nintendo said there will not be cross-platform play (probably because of the different stages and various elements that could lead to lag).

The Wii U version will be playable with Gamecube controllers thanks to Nintendo releasing an official adapter that hooks up-to 4 gamecube controllers to the Wii U for $20. Nintendo is also releasing some gamecube controllers again for $30 a controller. There's a bundle planned with a controller, the game, and the adapter for $100. $10 savings.

An important thing to note is that BOTH VERSIONS WILL HAVE THE SAME ROSTER. BOTH SUPPORT ONLINE PLAY.

3DS version comes out October 3rd. Wii U version is set for "Holiday". The 3DS version was set to come out in Summer, so the Holiday deadline could mean anywhere between November and February.

I missed the one on Wednesday cuz of class but I could possibly make it out to the Chesapeake BB and maybe preorder for 3DS.

I was at the demo in Greenfield WI on Wednesday. It was pretty horribly planned (only 1 setup for hundreds of people, I waited 3.5hrs for 2 2min matches). But, the game is as good as always. Feels a bit faster than brawl but not as techy as melee. Little Mac is fun, wii fit trainer is really floaty. Wii Pro controllers are awkward. That's about what I know. I pre-ordered the wii U version, Deb pre-ordered the 3ds version.

Damn, this makes me feel a lot better about not taking the 20 minute drive to my closest participating Best Buy.

it's like you were actually at e3 eightball (i went to their demo thing last year)
