This thread is for the sharing of software, any OS, that you think people should know about.
I guess I'll start it off by sharing something for Windows called http://www.360desktop.com/
It makes your desktop have 360 degrees on it, enabling you to have lots of windows and stuff.
i personally did not keep it on my system, finding it uneasy to move windows around the circle.

So it's kinda like the cube multiple desktop plugin that linux has had for years?

*grin*
JKDefrag.  No-frills better Windows defragger.

PasswordSafe.  Encrypted password storage.

WinDirStat or JDiskReport.  Disk folder and file summary tools.  For me, WinDirStat replaced SequoiaView and JDiskReport may replace WinDirStat.

Never really understood what's wrong with the stock defrag utility, seems to do the job for me.

People sit around and wait for the defrag to run?

Jesus, how big is your drive?

I guess it's never a problem for me cos my system drive is only 74GB and I've never felt the need to defrag either of my storage discs.

2x !

Besides the obvious Firefox and Thunderbird (and related add-ons such as GreaseMonkey and AdBlock), I suggest:
-JBidWatcher, a eBay manager and sniper.
-Tunatic, a tool that identifies music and songs by listening to a clip of it.
-nLite, a tool to make Windows install cds, sans all the pre-loaded crap. Add your own drivers and make a tiny, fast and custom install.
-SpeedFan, a fan speed, voltage and temp monitor, also can control fan speeds in response to temps.
-WinRAR, forget WinZip, 7zip, or what have you. WinRAR is all you need, plus RAR files are teh awesome.

I'll vouch for cccp as well, it helps me watch my porn hentai videos in just about every format.

AFAIK 7zip has a better compression ration AND is open source. Winrar 0 - 7zip 2

Open source doesn't give it an excuse to suck Sad Winrar just seems to be overall more convenient for me with it's shell integration.
