Plus, it's not like a Jedi starts out as all-powerful or anything. Not sure if they'll implement that in the game, but if they do Jedi go through all kinds of stages. I think this idea alone will help game play be constantly changing and will be a little like survival of the fittest.

Well, afaik every class will have his/her own story as well, this will make for a nice reason to play through multiple classes. (Maybe even all of them)

How would a jedi not be a DPS machine?  They have a sword that can decapitate anyone in one hit.  I'm with Caff on the rare jedi idea.  I'd much it be based on shooty stuff. Then I can see how well a jedi can dodge fire from 50 people shooting from all directions.

I understand the concept of the star wars universe... but I also watched all the gameplay videos thats out there...  yes they seem to do decent dps, but the saber is certainly not even remotely a 1 shot kill as it would be in "real" star wars fasion... it's a game  

The narrator of that vid I posted stresseed that the scene wouldnt be easy for just a sith - he needed dps support [while he held the aggro] - obvi I don't know any more than any one else, but I'm pointing out what I see.

Caf is right though, there are many types of class systems and since they havent even announced 4 of the 8 classes theres no way of speculating where its going

What I really wonder is....does anyone really know how to make a proper MMO?


There's a few stalwarts that stick around long past expiration dates for other games, but what happened to the dev teams that made them, surely there have to be a few creative minds out there that can pull it off....


I think any future MMO really needs the following....

- Factional Wars (Player Set or Set by Game)
- Engine Updates -> NO SEQUELS
- Engaging End Game, and expansion of the end game over time
- Minimal "Rebalancing" over time
- Some degree of real risk and loss
- As few "rules" as possible
