Yeah, I'm not thrilled about anything cmonig up personally.  But also I won't complain if we keep playing TF2 since anything DX10 is gonna make my laptop cry ;P

<+Karrde> welp, time to learn some basic patterning skills

<@Negate> there is a simple pattern
<+Karrde> I changed my mind.  Gonna cosplay as a gay demon from hell and get negate raped instead XD
<+Caffeine`work> Karrde: Gay demon? Why would you need to cosplay just go as yourself
<+FlyingMongoose> Caffeine`work: Karrde would actually have to tone it down some.

I think SC2 and Left4Dead look awesome, will they replace TF2 completely, no

Could they get their own night of the week for us to play them, most definitely.

As far as another big FPS I don't think we're gonna see another for at least 2 - 3 years that everyone is going to enjoy. Im not trying to be horribly negative, thats just the way I see it, and basing it on my past experience. Played TFC for 3 years, then Planetside for 2.5, then CSS for 2, and now TF2. I wouldn't be looking toward 2009 and possibly even 2010 for a big PC multiplayer FPS, unless something comes out of the woodwork.

I forgot one...Call of Duty 5. It will probably suck, but it might be good. I believe it's being done by Treyarch. They did CoD3, which was console only and sucked from what I hear. But they also did CoD:UO which had fucking awesome MP.

Yeah... I really don't know what Activision is thinking. They get CoD 1 and 2 by Infinity Ward which stood out in WWII FPS game. Then Treyarch does CoD3, which is generally regarded to be the embarrassment of the series. So they give it back to Infinity Ward who make CoD4. After that proves to be a runaway success they decide to go BACK to Treyarch?

...

Brilliant!

No, Treyarch is like the Slant Six of SOCOM, or the Ubi-blah of Splinter Cell. One developer will work on the next sequel, while the main developer works on the sequel after that.

If we ever wanted to delve into the idea of taking our community into the MMO world I would recommend Champions Online when it comes out.  Its supposed to be like City of Heroes (made by the same people) but with all the lameness fixed.  Plus you get the ability of customizing each one of your super heroes power (more damage, faster attack, etc.).

Going to give the beta a shot when the time comes to see how much better (or worse) this will be compared to City of Heroes.

I'm SOO looking forward to Champions Online.  City of Heroes was fun, but critically flawed in an MMO sense.  I'm hoping Champions Online will fix those problems (like sustainability), but even if it doesn't, I'll be there for at least a month I suppose.

Well back in the day to be a part of the beta testing you just have to be a member early and hound the site until they give out the proper info.  But in the present most likely fileplanet will offer up the beta, you could either pre-order the game, or the beta will just simply be open.  Its too early to tell I guess.

And I agree with Black Aspen.  I was a part of City of Heroes in the early beta and played two years.  Had a lot of fun with it but with all the nerfing and lack of end game content City of Heroes got really stale.

I hope Call of Duty 5 is good. I wish we had more people here who played it on PC. Sad

Nope, not it.  I remember it was on dToid somewhere once, and reminded Caff of Planetside I think.

Also we could all play Mythos when it's public... coz' y'know... it's free >.>'.  I'm never paying a monthly for a game anyways.

Far Cry 2 looks a hell of a lot different than one, so you don't need to worry about it sucking.

Also, STALKER: Clear Sky is out in August.  The original STALKER was actually a very good game, highly underrated.

I started a dToid guild on Mythos and play it a few times a week.  Running epic maps with a group on it is pretty awesome.

Ohhhhhh, just saw some new footage for Left4Dead over on RPS. Everytime I see this stuff I fall in love all over again. This shit is looking fantastic:

The down-but-not-out (save me!) mechanic is looking sweet, I can't wait for this to hit the market. Will make for some fantastic coop.

It looks really good, and I'd swear the level used was taken right from the Zombie Panic subway level. But why is there a sound effect of someone urinating at the end? :S
