I wonder what they need inside the computer to stream. Is it over a network or is there a direct signal from the computer?

Its just a blue tooth device, so all they would need is a blue tooth USB dongle
the streaming is done over a wifi channel between the wii u and the gamepad, so that wouldn't work

According to the programmers, Nintendo is using a client server model utilizing an ARM chip in the Wii U console as the server, which is paired with a similar chip in the GamePad as the client, with codenames of DRH and DRC respectively. Nintendo puts a proprietary twist on the protocols used, such as A/V streaming, input and RPC communications. These protocols are wrapped up in a proprietary twist on the WPA2 Wi-Fi protocol that is sent between the console and GamePad.

Well the proof of concept has already been executed, so now it's just down to dumbing it down to point-and-click.

yes, but sega didn't. if bayonetta looks up your alley try metal gear rising on steam, pc version is fairly good. it's not as offensive based and is instead a back and forth affair where you're on the attack but have to stop to block/parry and dodge moves, with ridiculously awesome one-on-one boss fights against human-sized opponents, which is something every character action game should have :> (it also requires no real knowledge of the metal gear story as its largely standalone) if you're picking up a wii u (or already have one) also try out the wonderful 101, made by the same company and the person who directed the first bayonetta directed that game

these types of games will also scratch your dark souls itch as even though they're in different genres they require mastery over all of the basic systems to progress to completion and exhibit very good game design

Bayonetta didn't do too well in sales I heard, so Sony and Microsoft didn't want anything to do with a sequel; However Nintendo picked up the project, hence the Wii U exclusive. If it wasn't for Nintendo, there would be no sequel.

But yes Bayonetta is an amazing game; it is total eye candy and fun to play. The copious amounts of work put into the art direction and music is wonderful!!

So, Nintendo is REALLY pushing Mario Kart to sell the Wii U.

First things first: Buy and register MK8 on Club Nintendo before July 31st and you get a free download copy of Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, New Super Mario Bros U, or Wii Party U.

If you pre-order and purchase at Best Buy (in-store or online), you get $10 free for actual gas. Yeah, the stuff that runs your car. Really.

Lastly, new Wii U bundle:

Comes with a Deluxe Wii U (32GB, charging cradle, Digital Deluxe promo, etc.), Mario Kart 8, a Wii Motion+, and the steering wheel peripheral. In addition, if you register before August you still qualify for the free games listed above.

Any questions?

I'd say so, especially if you've been teetering on the edge for a while. Mario Kart is the first big online game from Nintendo for the Wii U and it's loaded with new features, so it ought to satisfy some online urges. The free download has a pretty good range of games for any Nintendo fan, and the console itself comes with that free Wii Remote, nice for multiplayer.

Of course, if you're waiting for smash, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a bundle for it too.

I've had a lot of fun with my Wii U and I think it has a lot of potential just based on first party support alone. I think it also currently delivers the most on the fun per dollar ratio right now. The videos of MK8 look fantastic. It looks like everything I loved from the N64 version with lots of new stuff. I'm glad they seemed to pick up on what made the N64 version so awesome.
Ryaman Legends is best on Wii U, Wonderful 101 is an amazing action game, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is amazing, NSMBU/L are skippable because Ryaman/DK are much better 2D platformers (Legends falls off at the end and is nowhere near as good overall as Origins was) Super Mario 3D World is a really good 3D platformer, Zombi U is a good survival game
