Best part is they're not cropping the timeframe at all, thus the ranks will never change. Those with accumulated points will always have that lead to constantly build on, they will always be stagnant and only useful for tracking kills by guns in the last 28.

Well, if that included the number of deaths due to griefoporters I am certain it would be much higher for everybody. There was a pretty high coloration between “hey, we are we losing” and “hey, this greifoporter goes to the beach”.
