Yeah, I usually sell 5 crates for 1 scrap. Might be able to do a little better, but I just like to get rid of 'em fast.

has this been suggested yet? seriously. I have so many damn crates, but the trade value is sooo low I can't even give them away. this would make having them at least a little worthwhile.

Probably to death, but I think this is exactly the situation that Valve wants. If they allow for crafting crates, it's less crates in the market for people to buy keys for. So I doubt they'll ever do it...unless they find some way to gain money out of crafting crates, too.
