It's... just a combination of factors. They didn't overdo the wubstep. I almost feel as if they slipped in filtered drum and bass and wubstep influences just to make it more palatable to a wider audience. The album as a whole feels a bit unfocused, watered down, and flat. I almost felt as if these were remixes done of IM songs at times, rather than something the artists put out themselves.

Also, why did they slip in a total shit single like " U R So Fucked?" I mean really.
