I'm not going to pretend to have kept up with the thread as well as I should have, but these guys are (in my humble opinion) pretty fantastic:

Empire Of The Sun - Alive

If they were posted before, well just consider this confirmation that they're pretty swell

I wish that we could lose this cloud. Baby, it's better this way.
The Both-Volunteers of America

The lead singer of my favorite band started a new one, and it's fuckin awesome.

in terms of lyricism or production?

deltron 3030;
a tribe called quest
souls of mischief
Sage Francis
The Weathermen (group w/ aesop and el p + other NY rappers)
El-P
Run the Jewels
Das Racist

it sounds like you really like east coast style flow and delivery. another good artist to check out might be Shawn Kemp/Lil Ugly Mane ; a really creative producer/rapper from the midwest who recently announced his music is defunct, which is a damn shame, because if you listen to the entirety of 'Three Sided Tape Vol 1, 2 and 3', his entire works, you'll see and listen to just an incredible talent. Then you'll remember it's defunct. Sad

MIGOS FOR WORKING OUT

I'd also recommend Shabazz Palaces, because they are awesome.

oh you know I fucking love deltron 3030

fucking love beastie boys too

something about the production of it all that makes these songs so much more unique than the stuff I hear at parties.

like i swear i've never heard that migos song but there's just something about it (and it's not that I think it's bad), it's just that I feel like I've heard the damn song like 100 times before.

The delivery and the lyrics and the flow of all these just make the songs seem more than a song and an experience. Maybe it's just that they're writing about stuff that's kinda real to me instead of (the lifestyles of the rich and the famous).

I like flobots and gorillaz a lot too.
