something about the production of it all that makes these songs so much more unique than the stuff I hear at parties.

like i swear i've never heard that migos song but there's just something about it (and it's not that I think it's bad), it's just that I feel like I've heard the damn song like 100 times before.

The delivery and the lyrics and the flow of all these just make the songs seem more than a song and an experience. Maybe it's just that they're writing about stuff that's kinda real to me instead of (the lifestyles of the rich and the famous).

I like flobots and gorillaz a lot too.

Diggin a tribe called quest, souls of mischief

So I actually heard Lindsey Sterling on (satellite) radio today

This song

Honestly I think she's pretty entertaining.
Sterling was just through town recently and I passed on going because

1) I don't like going to concerts alone
2) no one else I know locally likes her
and
3) my gf is usually game for unknown concerts but would have totally detected that I have a super crush on lindsey.
The Knife 'Silent Shout' on Vimeo

Never knew this could happen to me
I know now fragility
I know there's people who I haven't told
I know of people who are getting old

Wish I could speak in just one sweep
What you are and what you mean to me
Instead I mumble randomly
You stand by and enlighten me

In a dream I lost my teeth again
Calling me woman and half man
Yes in a dream all my teeth fell out
A cracked smile and a silent shout
A cracked smile and a silent shout

If I explain it once thoroughly
He'll have you later 'cause it's never free
You were at the gigantic spree
I caught a glimpse now it haunts me
I caught a glimpse now it haunts me

Honestly I think she's pretty entertaining.

Her music is legit but the whole prancing about thing is a lot more irritating than alluring.
She also spends most of the concert miming along and only periodically plays (poorly).  You can tell when she's actually playing because she stops prancing and the music sucks.

On another note, have an indie-punk mega post

Speedy Ortiz - Bigger Party

Front Bottoms - Talon of the Hawk

The Dirty Nil - Fucking up Young
npr gets to stream the whole album

Interpol - 'El Pintor'

Moon Hooch: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Saw this on reddit, pretty excellent and unique.
Paolo Nutini is like Maroon 5 if they were any good.

Dayum that guy has some pipes. I love the mashup of styles too. He captures each perfectly.
