Time and again I tell myself
I'll stay clean tonight
But the little green wheels are following me
Oh no, not again

I'm stuck with a valuable friend
"I'm happy"
"Hope you're happy too"
One flash of light
but no smoking pistol

I usually prefer the Cash version, but the original deserves a listen all every once in a while.

The song is great but you aren't doing it justice without listening to the rest of album all the way through first. There were periods of times when I would listen to it every day. Just pop in the SACD (or DVDA, only format I don't own it on yet is vinyl) and take that emotional ride. I'm still mad I missed the only concert where they played TDS in its entirety. I remember seeing them live at MSG. When they busted out Hurt, man I don't think I've ever seen so many people break down and cry.

NIN is one of those bands that sits at the periphery of my music listening. I've never listened through one of their albums, but now I have no excuse not to give it a go.
Bought my first album in years. I'm starting piano lessons and can bring in stuff I want to learn to play.
