Don't lower King of the Hill down to the level of Bleach.

Ever again.

Any of you weeaboos know why my One Piece got delayed one week  Sad?
Can't wait for the English Dub.  Been watching the Japanese Sub of it and it's been entertaining, even if it's not a full season like I was hoping for.  Should hopefully see it this year sometime.

Higurashi dubs...

But naw in all seriousness, I grew up on dubs, so for the most part bad voice acting doesn't bother me all that much. Though, I can say a lot of the stuff I watched a while ago (Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc.) actually had really good dubs though. Problem is that shows like those go against the norm when it comes to english voice acting and we usually get stuck with stuff like Keiichi the Hedgehog.

I tend to stick with subs nowadays. When I went and watched Ponyo with a friend a while back (since I watched all of Miyazaki's other films before I started regularly watching subs instead of dubs) I was started to get a little distracted by some of the pronunciation of diolauge. Probably just getting used to subs or something, but, even in a dub with grade A voice acting, a lot of the time there's still those little nuances or details that you lose in translation.
I've watched a bunch of Subs, but usually the Dubs are more enjoyable.  Seems the only time I don't really like it, is when it's a family or kids anime.  With Subs, there's also a disconnection from the anime when I'm having to read it rather than simply just enjoying what is there and being said, so Dubs will usually win it for me.  My anime collection on DVD certainly doesn't have anything subbed...Except for Ghost in the Shell 2, but that's cause there wasn't an English dub lol
Spanish dubs are awesome, and i love how experienced the dubbers are, since they have a lot of experience dubbing American cartoons.

Shows like Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk and almost every single major (and not so major) anime got dubbed in spanish with astounding quality, even to the point where i can't hear Goku's voice in Japanese because i'm so used to Mario Casañeda's Goku.

BUT! Americans had to come and ruin everything. Why? Since Companies like Viz, 4Kids and others started dubbing their own shows, Dubbing studios decided it was cheaper to buy them from the US than from Japan, because it was cheaper and it was way easier to translate from English than Japanese.

With this we lost a bunch of stuff. First of all we lost exclusivity. When dubbing studios bought animes from Japan, they usually did in packages of 25 episodes just after they aired in Japan. Now from the US they won't send the episodes until they finished airing the season and a whole rerun on the US. This used to work with shows from Cartoon Cartoons for example, but animes with 52 episodes per season were like a kick to the balls. To give an example, we are still stuck on the Naruto fillers before he grew up. (not that i watch them).

Second, we get the shows butchered. I think we all know the One Piece dilema with 4Kids. That was a joke so bad that even the Dubbing studio decided to buy the show from Japan again. Unfortunately that's the only case. We get billions of US-dubbed animes not only with mutilated scenes, but also dialogues. I don't know why but i'm sick of watching animes with altered dialogues, saying out of context jokes every 2 phrases, trying to appeal a smaller audience. I?m blaming 4Kids for ruining Yu-Gi-Oh! GX for me. You might want to throw rocks at me but i love YGO!, both the cards and series. And when i saw GX i hated the kiddy dialogue, jokes and forced characters and ended up hating the series even if it was everything i wanted from the first season, Card playing only without much subplot (which it ended having anyway). In the end i ended watching the Japanese anime anyway, without subs because nobody wanted to sub it. But even if i understood like 3/4 of the dialogue i had a way more pleasant experience.

tl;dr. Fuck you and your dubbings, that's why i read comics about muscular men in thights
I cannot stand dubs. I understand why some people will like them, but I just can't enjoy it.
i prefer to have subtitles even for stuff in english
I never watch anything like Yu Gi Oh or One Piece, so I rarely had to put up with the really bad Dubbing that I can totally understand made everyone have an aversion to it lol
original yugioh dubs were amazing. i caught an episode of yugioh gx the other day and I thought I heard what sounded like Joey Wheeler's voice. then some guy goes "hey is that joey wheeler?" and thats the only thing you hear of joey wheeler for the entirety of the episode. cocksuckers.
