The animus I've seen so far include, One Piece, Naruto, Code Geass, Tenchi Muyo, Abenobash Arcade, FLCL, Fairy Tail, D-Grey Man, and I think that's all of them. I would love some suggestions as to other animes to watch.

Well from that, I have a few recommendations.

•Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood- In my top 3. Has a great cross between comedy/happy moments and tragic events. Skip the original anime since this is simply a retake but following the manga word for word this time.

•Samurai Champloo- Has this very surreal crossover between modern hip-hop culture and Edo Period japan. Works very well though.

•Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex- A future-punk story following special police unit and its fight against cyber criminals and whatnot. Has a much much different tone from the original movie if you've ever seen that.

•Trigun- A future-western. An old favorite of mine, but has a great cross between comedy and action.

•Cowboy Bebop- Another old scifi-western, but more of a Firefly sense rather than "wild-west with spare tech".

also, outside of that genre you could try Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (horror), Clannad(drama/romance), Baccano(crime), and I will leave this here.

EDIT- Also Monster (and awesome "Wrong Man" anime)
I don't watch a whole lot of anime but I did watch all of Black Lagoon earlier this year which I really enjoyed. It's a shoot-em up about crime in the south-sea underworld.

Also going to recommend the miyazaki films, The Girl Who Lept Through Time (Drama, Scifi), Summer Wars (Action, Comedy) , and 50 Cm Per Second (Drama, Romance)(only on the basis that the soundtrack was solid and the animation was fucking amazing)
Neon Genesis Evangelion. I recommend watching 1-26 (watching the director's cut versions of 21-24), but watch 25-26 knowing it's one possible timeline. Then watch End of Evangelion and have your head explode. Then watch the Rebuild movies, the 1.11 and 2.22 versions.

Definitely recommend Higurashi. It basically leaves you clueless for pretty much the entire first season, but when you finally figure it out, it's pretty crazy. Just stay away from the english dubs. I'm not some "sub purist" though I prefer subs, but god the Higurashi dubs are awful.

While I'm at it, I'll also recommend Angle Beats (comedy/action/drama) and Welcome to the NHK (Slice of Life/comedy/drama).
Lol k so, I def remembered some more I've watched. I have seen Trigun and cowboy bebop and evangelion; I have heard of ghost in the shell just never got around to watching it. OMG HABANE RENMEI I REMEMBER THAT ANIME SO GOOD!!!! I remember watching the original FMA and started Brotherhood and never finished it. These are amazing suggestions!

P.S. Last Exile was crazy. Does it count for me to have read the Vampire Hunter D series?

Nice pic wyrm.

Watched the first episode on Netflix last night. It looks interesting, and I'll keeping watching it, but that episode made absolutely no sense in terms of establishing a plot.

That's its style as you watch more and more the plot starts connecting and you can really appreciate the things that happened before.

You sure you watched it all, though? If you only watched the episodes, End of Evangelion's a MUST.

Also Baccano's awesome stuff. Got to love Ladd Russo, especially.
