Berserk! might be a choice, but the monster thing kinda underplayed through most of it. But its a damn good anime.
Chrome shelled regios. (pretty average)
Digimon? (what the hell its a classic)
Devil May Cry (its got monsters and shit)

these arent exactly kaiju anime but they dont make the monster battle anime a whole lot.

Until the day they make a kaiju attacks highschool bullshit god help us all if they do

Well, I ws looking for something along the lines of Pacific Rim or Godzilla.  I dont deem those as Kaiju, even though they have giant monsters.  I need my Giant Monsters to beat the shit out of each other.    No, I dont want to watch Voltron, Digimon(Pokemans4life), or Power Rangers.

I started watching Of The Dead or Is This a Zombie? (depending on how it's titled in the US). It's a pretty hilarious anti-anime type show. The guy in it accidentally becomes both a zombie and a magical garment girl (which is a parody of sailor moon). It's modeled on the typical harem type show but with lots of weird shit like vampire ninjas.
