720p >>>>>>>>>>> youtube
720p is not really nessassary as long as it looks ok. If you like an anime you should always buy the dvd when it prints anyway to support the series. Thats when you get the good quality.

720p (1280x720 progressive scan) is better than the maximum DVD resolution (720x480 NTSC).
you know whats really sweet blu-ray releases they are ridiculously large in size and quality.

this
marathon'd approximately the last half of dennou coil (episodes 15-26). dennou coil fucking owns.
I just bought 1-4 of Yotsuba and am going to buy the remaining volumes once I have my computer together.

Also on my list:

Spice and Wold Season 1 DVD

Spice and Wolf first volume manga is coming out in April

The last two DVD's of Gurren Lagann

and that's it.

Untill I find something else I want

I'm waitin for the day when the entire Fullmetal Alchemist series is released in single big box set.

It's went from several cases, to a couple, to 4 boxes, to 2 boxes... just a matter of time.
I started reading Oldboy. It is amazing so far and so far the movie is different enough that it is still fun to read even if you've seen the movie first (like me). I recommend it.
I fully expect to get laughed at by Anime enthusiasts, but I really enjoyed Samurai Champloo. I really love indie hip hop, and the series was just really enjoyable. I feel like Jazz enthusiasts felt for Cowboy Bebop.

I had several burned DVDs in college from a friend of Champloo that have been since lost. Where does one find this kind of series? I have been to nearly every store in town, and nobody ever has it (not really surprised). I know nearly nothing about Anime.

I found it on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Samurai-Champloo-C...B000FC2EXE

Quote:Available from these sellers.

6 new from $130.00

But I don’t want to spend $130 dollars to get it. Any ideas?
Torrents a la Boxtorrents bakabt or something similar

Despite what many might think Champloo was actually a very good series, not as good as Bebop but def up there in terms of quality
I liked Champloo better than Bebop. I love Bebop, but I do like my anime to have more of a recurring storyline more than recurring characters. Tongue

Champloo was good but I liked Bebop better, it probably didn't help that I was told its a 'Pop Themed Bebop' before watching it, made me expect too much  :-X

But its good in its own right.

I understand that in general. Honestly, I could really see why Bebop was a better series. I think most people would agree that would be the superior title, and the narrative was simply superior in every way. I don't think Champloo ended as cleanly, but remember the episode where the two warring schools agreed to a primal formal of "tagging" instead of continuing the endless bloodshed? Or the episode where the Dutch warrior kind of came out to the other characters? I thought modern takes and solutions given in Champloo were much more applicable to today, while Bebop had much more general themes such as obsession, skill, and revenge. One felt like a narrative on current life through the eyes of a much simipler time, while the other was some epic journey and story.

I loved them both, don't get me wrong. I just want to watch Champloo again, as it has been some time.
Bogus Booty is the best champloo episode. that is all.

I think that was the entire point of Champloo.
