Yea I keep ending up with a shit load of AP with him, but because he is so squishy I am not much help in team fights. Therefore I might move on in a bit. Any other good caster recommendations?
Annivia, kassadin, vladimir are a few that come to mind if you want a carry caster.
Tried annivia and liked her, also all my random teams have been super shitty lately.

Apples and Oranges in your argument. I'm arguing that with basic communication, you can be successful. You're arguing that Voice comm is better than typing. Within the context of your original compliant, I'm providing a solution, you are making an assertion.
generally a premade team that can talk together will perform better than a random team.
and when you play premade you don't get some dbag that instalocks karthus or some shit like that at least you can talk about it before hand.

So, I tried using Udyr on my smurf so that I can get a hang of jungling.
I had fun, but the main problem was that my team is shit.
Yea udyr really isn't the carry I was hoping he would be. :'(

Udyr is super carry. Bloodrazor/2xPhantom Dancers(Double Zeal in most games)/Infinity Edge rapes casters in 2 stance swaps(Bear>Tiger) and tanks in 5. He's a carry, just need 3 early game kills for the cash.

This is true but I just find that other carries can match his damage output with a lot less items. Sure he has a lot of utility but if you want a straight carry there are better choices I think.
