Bad at dota?  Who? me?  yes.  yea I am.
if it was valve what is happening would still be inexcusable (although they at least have said a LAN feature is on the way)

internet keeps going out at the venue for the LoL nationals, causing the game to be repeatedly paused until the internet works again, this would be solved with a LAN feature simply. OR YOU KNOW, USING SOME OF THAT 2 MILLION DOLLARS THEY THREW INTO THE POT TO SECURE RELIABLE INTERNET

yeah but because what valve did TI2 was one of the best gaming tournaments ever.

It's pretty sad that league still doesn't have any sort of server imaging for game rollbacks. League will forever be babbys first moba to me because of the professionalism (or lack of) the game build, and the lack of variety in hero design. Oh and treadmill gaming is a joke in a game that you're trying to make be competitive. Everyone starts on a level playing field or you're full of shit.
arent they in a parking lot

lol

[/quote]exactly. have everyone start on a level playing field. the problem with LoL is they segregate players who don't have the time to put into it by giving players who spend more time and/or money a bigger pool of heroes to choose from, but the heroes don't even matter because they use the same template for nearly every hero in the game

the other thing is in dota if the stream goes down unexpectedly (provided the game doesn't get disconnected too for whatever reason) the spectators can also still watch the match through the client by buying a relatively cheap ticket to view it in-game

That whole "level playing field" argument is complete horseshit.  The matchmaking system puts people of the same, or very close, level together.  Since level is tied to time played people will have around the same amount of heroes unlocked and even if they don't it really doesn't matter unless they're at a competitive level.  I am not a fan of LoL anymore but I still think that the whole level/rune/unlocking system is not a big deal.
I think it is though. Lets say you're just getting into the game you have to invest a certain amount of time to get a full rune page in order to be competitive before you even start unlocking heroes.
Sure, tourney players get accounts with everything unlocked, but the way it's set up now is clearly treadmill gaming to get people to pay money.

I don't see how it's any different than having to level up in WoW and then raid for powerful items, or get certifications in Planetside or any other game where it takes time for a player to be powerful.
