Uh it takes about the same number of hits, just different cause we play Vanu with shitty weapons as opposed to TR/NC with the Jackhammer or MCG

Well, there you have it.
Only thing that worried me is things like the NC tanks were now almost hitscan with their turrets, so if NC still has the highest damage output but their weapons don't even take skill to use anymore, that could be an issue.  The base's reminded me of the stuff in Section 8 though, which I would regard as a positive.  Certainly they were the part that caused the biggest problems with PS1.

I figured ironsights were inevitable. I don't really mind, although I'm somewhat annoyed by the lack of crouch-firing by the other beta testers. YEAH LETS USE IRONSIGHTS BECAUSE ITS MORE REAL, BUT THEN STAND UP TO FIRE YEAH THIS IS GREAT sigh
I dont like it because it both slows things down and clutters my screen with an ENORMOUS view model
Then stop holding down the ironsights button. Or get a bigger monitor. Tongue

I don't like how he was able to drive AND gun an MBT on his own.

The flexible weapon options on tanks/aircraft are interesting, but IMO cause a problem with target identification that PS1 didn't have - when looking at aircraft in particular, it was (mostly) immediately obvious which ones were a danger to ground troops (Reavers, Libs, GGs) and which were a danger to other aircraft (Mosqs, Wasps) and therefore not worth firing at with AA.

Also, deployable Galaxies as spawn points? wat. Obvious huge target is obvious.

Also huge.

But that is the point. Extremely mobile spawn point.

I am REALLY more concerned about the 'spawn on squad' talent of a TL. Try clearing out a held room now.
Curious to see how that works. Would be interesting if it's drop-pod based, since that would 1) make it obvious where you are and 2) mean you can't use it indoors.
I still think that although it's not the original PS, it still looks fun.

There's still a lot of balancing to be done, and even as "polished" as some of it looked you could tell its still very rough.

Also if you didn't notice in the video, the mag can actually (to a limited amount) hover UPWARDS, like to go over barriers or terrain obstacles.
I did notice that. It'd be interesting if it could go so far as to jump base walls Tongue

Also interesting to see how the fixed mount/turret mount guns work if its a solo-piloted tank, though.
The main things I noticed was that even on optimal setups there was a decent amount of lag, and there are no vehicle entry animations.  :'(  Also I understand why they're moving away from an inventory based system but I'm still sad to see it go.  And I'm not at all a fan of single person tank driving/gunning.  That's what the lightning is for, with the tradeoff that it's much weaker than real tanks.
Someone compiled all the questions Matt Higby answered.  There's some interesting stuff there.
nice

-Gens will now be interactive things and not require heavy fire power to bring down.

I'm not sure if this makes me sad that we can't do massive gen crashes and generate massive QQs, or glad because we can co-ordinate a ton of infiltrators and bring down an entire faction's power grid at once.
After hearing a bit about this, I am quite interested in getting yelled at by Caff and breaking the universe. How does one get in?
Having never played PS1 or really know anything about it asides from "MMOFPS", this looks pretty neat. His talk of F2P worried me for a bit, but talk of being directly opposed to pay2win cleared that up.

Yeah, color me interested.

You will play with us, you will be at with us, you will deal with drunks with us.
You are the drunks, John
Tried to sign up, but their website absolutely fails. I go to their site, it says Join Now. I click that, gives me a link to some login program. I create an account and log in, says I need a subscription. I look around and click My Account, brings me to an page with no mention of subscriptions. I look around the SoE homepage, find Planetside, click the link, brings me back to where I started.

How do you even play this? Is it free? What does it cost if not? Is it monthly? Did they already abandon this game??

Found it finally. I'm not payin $15 a month to play anything.
That's PS1. The beta for PS2 hasn't started yet.
I meant in response to bacon. I'll just skip out on PS1 and wait for the f2p sequel for I am incredibly cheap.
