No ANTs according to Higby. Apparently you get resources for holding certain bases that you use to pull weapons/vehicles. Kind of like how interlink and tech plants work but expanded.
f2p MMO with group trolling and drivables?

I doubt I'd have the multibox capacity I had in EVE though =(((

More if you have the proper controllers.
Working on a DDR-pad mod....
No ANTs?  No making boring ass drives to warp gates and hoping to god to dodge the cloaker OS?  Sounds good to me ;P

I like the concept of the ANT and refilling bases. I would actually like to see more game mechanics for waging siege against bases, not less. (like a way to stack NTU drain).

I also missed out on the ANT-bomb years. I bet they could have tweaked the damage on that to make it sufficiently fun but not OP.
Oh nothing wrong with a good siege mechanic.  It's just refilling bases that feels like a waste of time.

It's wondering if I've got the power to run the client on more than one of my PC's - This might be able to pull it off, but my other laptop is a no-go with a Core2Duo. EVE hard hardly any video requirements at all, (and the lack of needing to micro for things like movement) that made it so easy to run 8 chars at once.

I agree.

you missed out on putting a cloaked ams behind the back door of a base with about 30 EMP's mines placed out and set to neutral within the invs bubble only to have a group of cools guys drop at the back door from a gal and to be wiped from the face of the game with the emp somebody did from their cud to make sure no spit fires/mines were active.    Sorry for the run-on sentence but that was one of my top 5's with that game.    That and watching john pull off an OS on a moving target.    i am so sick of the PS bull shit SOE has been playing with us that I honestly don't care if PS2 ever comes out .  im sick of their antic's and lies.

why does it look like they are just updating the graphics on the old game?

Not necessarily a bad thing.

[/quote]because that's all they're doing. Besides removing BFRs which they will probably re-add as DLC later, then release for free a few months after they charge everyone for the DLC. Going off the promises made BEFORE launch of the original game, nothing they've mentioned for PS2 will make it out of developer hell.

If I'm pessimistic about it, I can only be pleasantly surprised.

That's kinda how I feel about life in general. It's turning me into a bitter old man.
You know, the most important questions hasn't been answered yet.  Are the trees made of Auraxium and thus will really mess your shit up, cause you to turn wildly upon impact and jam you in so hard you have no hope in hell of escape?

I think they got enough to do without implementing destructible terrain.

Destructible terrain + thousands of clients to update simultaneously and dynamically = lol good luck with that

It doesn't have to be persistent destructible terrain. It doesn't have to occur for everyone out-of-draw distance. And it could re-set when everyeone is out of draw distance. Given what BF3 can manage, it's possible to do a scaled down implementation for PS2.

Whether SOE has the skill to code it is another matter.
PCG announces today that they will be giving out beta keys for PS2 along with their March issue (on sale Feb 28th): http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/02/15/pc-gam...e-2-cover/

Cue me bitching about it on the SOE forums, and nobody listening: http://forums.station.sony.com/ps/posts/...8000471646
