still have a key, karrde? I want in, also my current setup won't run planetside (Phenom II 2.7ghz, HD 4850) but I'm upgrading to a 7850 very soon and an i5 3570k soonish (Black friday/christmas.)
Nope, I'm out.  ANyone else?
FYI: Vanu infil as sniper isn't so bad when you have it maxed out XD

All of a sudden I had 4000 cert points to blow.

Lets do some nonsense tonight.  Actually since we all have certs.
so with the $40 package or whatever it is, is the stuff I get actually cool or should I just wait for launch/an altruistic person to offer me a code?
It'll be worth it on launch.  Kor and I both have it.
What's the cooler stuff you buy with $40 of ingame dosh? I'm not big on aesthetic customization unless it's REALLY noticeable; e.g. skins from league of legends that totally transform an appearance are cool, but a parrot on my shoulder or new boots aren't very interesting.
You get $40 worth of buying cool weapons.
Play NC now before the nerf.  Seriously, their guns, esp certed up are a laugh.  it's a massacre.  Little recoil, laser accurate and hard hitting.  NOt sure what the devs are smoking.  And yes Didzo and I spent time playing both sides.  Not confirmation bias.  Just way easier to fight in almost every circumstance.
You'd think the side with the plasma bullets or whatever would have less recoil and better accuracy. Nope.

Even without certs, the NC guns are much easier to handle than their certed Vanu counterparts.
I spent a couple hours in a well organized squad/outfit doing Galaxy drops on top of points (no fall damage taken) and on top of tanks as heavy assaults. Two Sunderers would follow and act as mobile spawn points and resupply stations while the Galaxy got repaired and reloaded for the pickup. There was also a Scythe around to provide radar for the group and distract enemy air.

Around 16 people cooperating and coordinating their actions is enough to dominate the map.

I disagree.  There's still a lot of client side going on.    I've been dropped by VS faster than any fraction by the pulsar.
You tried a fully certed NC Light Assault?

Also there's something to be said for teamwork kinda being OP in this game lol.  Organized outfits just rip a hole in the game, randos can't organize fast enough due to the pacing of the game.
from what I hear I kinda like it that way, very frustrating to coordinate with some friends and find you can't make an impact because the game is balanced around lone-wolf babbies
i found that lone wolf can be helpful sometimes like for a (flash + base land grab = angry tanks) and can serve to force a team to divert from an actual threat to stop maybe 1 or 2 guys from just running from base to base.

Huge waste of time and in the last case i did it cost them 3 mosquitos. (Getting pretty good with that AT rocket, my bf3 skills with it transferred well)

in other news i really dont care for the weapons at the disposal of the Vanu, NC are so much better
I can finally get a playable framerate when I minimize everything.  Sadly this makes the game look like ass.  Still, it's progress.

Caff and older vets  might disagree but that's how PS 1 was in the beginning as I recalled it.    It came down to which organized outfit was better.   Buzzcut's 30 active people at a given time can do some serious damage since they operate exactly as a real platoon and know the proper game mechanics.  Nobody says a word on their vent other than the officers.  It's pretty impressive as it is Sad.      They are nothing to be fucked with when they are grouped up but as terrible as most when divided.     Not one is a threat going in a 1 on 1 fight , but bring your tank up to a post only to see 10 people pop out and omgwtfbbq with rocket spam ,  then you can safely say it was buzzcut's minions.     I've seen them roll 10 tanks with 3 sunderers backing them and literarly just carving a pathway through a zerg fight and it's very impressive to watch.  They focus on one target and melt it.  When this game launches, you'll get to enjoy countless posts of "my outfit is better than yours.....and here's why " for the first 3 years (if the fire doesn't die out before then).      I don't know if Caff remembers the organizied Vanu event we used to do once a week but 3-4 outfits would meet up at the sanct and literally pop lock a count just by our group of people.    And this was when the pops were 333 per empire, per cont  :p.     Try going up against that on a friday night.
But in this case I'm seeing less than 20 ppl just steamrolling, mostly due to the increased pace.  Hopefully it will be better when we're all on more servers and more organized groups are out on all sides.  I still want my phant though, I miss hot drop spec ops Tongue

Oh I remember, when your raid poplocks the continent, it is not something to be fucked with. That being said, the best outfits were the ones like AC, TO, 1CMM, SG, etc. that were smaller groups of 15 - 30 people (not the 100+ zerg fits) that had not just well organized players, but players that were also very good on an individual level.

Enclave in my selective memory was a bit of an inbetween, they had good organization, and moderate skill level on an individual basis, were larger than 30, but didn't get up to the zergfit level.
