You know, for all my years of playing MMO's, I never lose that righteous feeling when reading about complete cunts getting smashed in the face with the banhammer.

Is the Lancer good enough to go around mass Lancering shit yet?  I couldn't play last weekend, but I did drop $10 on the double money deal, so I can afford one now.  Was messing around in the VR training some, it seemed to be fairly fast and accurate now, but it's hard to tell when nothing in there is moving.  And there any other weapon that are a huge improvement/useful compared to the stock ones?  The Lasher seemed... interesting in this at least, like a high firerate long range harassment weapon with a huge clip, which could be good in open field ops with the Lancer?  Getting a second burster cannon for a MAX would be useful too probably.

The lancer *could* be used for stealth dickops, but the engineer AV turret is even better. Ridiculously powerful against sunderers, and it can one-shot infantry if you land a body shot. Get an AV turret. The pump shotgun is pretty crazy too, so try that out. One hit kills at close range. The lasher is situational, but not really necessary. I prefer the Flare as my heavy assault open field weapon. A second burster is always a good anti-air choice.

Yeah wtf, I just used that turret in training and it does retarded damage.  It has setup time and limited aiming range though, so it's not super useful for active field movement.  The Lancer DOES seem to have it's good old absurd range at least, I was able to hit stuff clear across the training room.  Damage feels a bit lacking though, would take a minimum of 6 people with one to pose any threat to most vehicles.  Is the pump shotgun the Thanatos?

Instead of telling you why the AV turret is the greatest shit ever, watch this instead.

Phobos = pump shotgun. The Thanatos is my slightly longer range shotgun of choice with slug ammo for the engineer.

I've actually used the Lancer against a lone TR heavy tank before, It's decently effective alone, two might be able to bit it hard enough to kill it before they know what's going on.

[/quote]In this game, getting hit by anything that doesn't give you a lock-on warning is death as a vehicle driver. The only thing that annoys me is that fully charged, it does the exact same damage as the Phoenix. But you have to stay in LOS. But then again, it fires faster.

TBH when I start getting pegged by mana (they sound different), I try to look at my directional indicator and put something between me and it.

Also lancer is great against lightnings with stealth.  I think the lancer is on par with other AV weapons now.  It has its ups and downs like anything.  It's especially good in situations where lockon isn't viable due to positioning and movement.
Dunno.  Dude is pretty terrible just sitting still and should've moved.  Even if he had time to move around to the front (once he realized from the lack of rendering) I'm sure it would've made no difference.   I'm just showing the future antics of this game.  Everybody is going to be sitting up top of a cliff waiting for a vehicle to spawn to the point that nobody is going to pull them.   People will just log off and the servers will get cut into half again, and higby will try to save face coming in and showing a graph "that's on target"        The game will be a foot zerg and nobody will want to walk from point a to b when it was intended for vehicles.     They had to redo instant action to move people off indar ffs.   The soloist doesn't care about territory nor bases, when you design a game base off kill/death ratio and the proof is in the pudding.

It just so happened that TR had already captured Amerish recently and had the majority of territories when the alert started. I guess the lesson to learn here is to keep the other continents locked so that if you get an Alert to conquer that continent you have very little work to do. Of course only the more populous factions have a hope to accomplish this. " 
 

It's the above that really gets to me.    they have no idea what they are doing .. Not a clue..

I won't even fly anymore because it's just stupidly imbalanced and killing a tank with one clip of rockets is just a bore.     Scatmax drops enemy maxes faster than a MBT or Bomber which is right on target.    One hit shotguns.  Not even worth me typing about it.   The current's dev's clearly had no idea what PS 1 was and the concept behind it.    It's embarrassing to call this game a sequel and nobody can even see any resemblance past 3 factions and coloring coding.   It's just dissapointing to see that SOE hasn't learned anything and everybody is or has completely lost faith.   Anybody still paying for a monthly sub is a greater dissapointment.     The game is a scam.

People dont like being unable to return fire, he was getting pegged and couldnt figure out where the shot came from.

Suggestions for limited budgets:
- One Shotgun. Great indoor/close option for all classes but infil, instantly makes the stock LA more fun and lethal. Nova, Thanatos, or Phobos are all good options depending on your preference. I like Nova with slugs for some distance, but Caff gets mad kills with Phobos close.

- One HA rocket upgrade. Annihilator is still probably the best bang for buck, given it locks both land/air. Lancer is getting better but I've not yet seen a squad of 6 lancers do what a squad of 6 annihilators do.

- If you like stealth infil, one SMG, probly the one with the bigger clip. unlocks/upgrades for all classes, nice CQB gun.

- Engie AV turrent is boss. If you play engie a lot (I do), it's seriously fun.

if you really really like to drive any one vehicle then consider one of those. Most vehicles are a cash and cert sink, though.
--flash - don't need one, but kobolt or fury are good
--lightning - HEAT
--mag - Saron secondary
--Lib - don't need to spend cash on upgrades, shredder is ok
--scythe -- rocketpods or AA depending what you like
--galaxy - not worth it on a limited budget.
