Well, I've had 2 attempted muggings. The first one, I just beat up the kid, and the second one went like this.

Mugger: YO GIMME ALL YOU GOT! WALLET PHONE EVERYTHING! (While pushing a semi sharp looking object from underneath his sweater)

Me: Woah, okay, just let me grab my text books out of my bag.

**Pull out Buck Knife that's about twice the size of his shank**

Mugger: OH FUCK, and he runs away.

I felt I could only really agree with the the narrator in this story, who did not lash out at Andy even if he didn't sympathize with him. Andy's character appears fragile, so when he calls on the narrator, his best friend, he can completely trust in him. Thus, Becca could come along.

Here, we learn Becca is completely unsympathetic, and perhaps overly aggressive towards Andy for very little rational reasons. Here we have a nearly self-contained person who, on his story, had a devastating heartbreak, which caused him to latch to a (superego-wise) harmless obsession and fuel his sexuality with it. Becca went in with stereotypical judgments in her mind, and chose to only amplify them as the meeting went on. This continued even (absolving Andy of the strange subject matter) as Andy maintained a calm and proper demeanor for a house host. In a sense, Becca embodies the very type of woman Andy fears the most. Someone who hates him for doing nothing. Someone who would just leave him even if he poured his heart out to the woman.

This story could easily go as a parallel for many other things. Homosexuality and other obscure habits and fetishes come to mind. The narrator and Becca thus act as the acceptor and decrier throughout, with the narrator accepting Andy for who he is, and Becca condemning him and falling verbally short of threatening his life.

The ending may be bothersome, but it's simply how Andy resolves things. It's like yelling at a calculator for adding numbers that you give to it. It's what an obsession is. He sees a target, and he shoots for it. I do place the emphasis that this obsession is entirely internal to him, and it's incredibly hard to fault him for what he does with himself. It's obvious that my issue falls with Becca, who personifies the thought-crime pursuant; the unbending backbone of society of which I would compare to Communist China or North Korea, muted, where having your toe out of line does not get it cut off, but will be berated all the same. Individuality and flaw seems abhorrent to her, which I find amusing as I see her reactionary, volatile nature as ultimately more dangerous to me than Andy's constructional fetish could ever be. In other words, I would not want to stand behind her at a coffee shop mayhaps she outbursts in a violent manner.

All in all, an interesting scenario. I enjoy fiction that's morally challenging, or at least has the outward appearance of doing so.

I liked the woman's comment about how dangerous real women can be. If you're fucking a woman, you're _ALWAYS_ fucking something that can kill you. Spooky/titillating thought
