Yesterday was the first big grill day of the season. Perfect weather, myself and my fellow grill conspirators whipped up some lamb chops, fat pork ribs, a monster porterhouse, two chicken breasts, bok choy, eggplant, a salad, and potatoes au gratin.
Desert was supposed to be a dram or 2 of this.
Today, it seems the bottle is empty.
There's been too much talking in this thread, even by me. Time for a good, simple Bump.
fuuuck last night it was 3 quid for a pint
i hate drinking at gigs, once i start i end up breaking into a twenty, then its game over.

i've had that brand a couple years ago. Van Gough was on their box, as if getting so drunk on it that you cut your ear off is a great endorsement.
Still, i can't stand the anise taste so this and ouzo are out for me.

A faux-absinthe liquor called Absente, made with southern wormwood (Artemisia abrotanum) instead of grande wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), is sold legally in the United States. This was the first US approval referring to "absinthe" on the front label; the front label says "Absinthe Refined" but the TTB classified the product as liqueur.
In 2007, TTB relaxed the US absinthe ban, and approved several brands for sale.[99] These brands must pass TTB testing, which is performed by the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry method.[100] The TTB considers a product to be thujone-free if the FDAâs test measures less than 10ppm (equal to 10 mg/kg) thujone.[101] A US distillery also began producing and selling absinthe, the first US company to do so since 1912.[102]
The last bit is what I remember. I think it's status is slowly drifting back to legal.
So, Surf, have you had some Absente and if so what is your buzz review of it? Do we not have any European or Canadian Absinthe Heads?
I tried to make it a point to look out for it but haven't seen any yet, plus we are a bit stricter here with alcohol with all the religulous people.
