Fallout: New Vegas was released, and is apparently fairly buggy.

In other news, boats still float on water unless unless water leaks in. More on this at 11.

Lol totally. Like who didn't predict this.

The funny part is that it's running on the same exact thing running a 2-3 year old game (which is running on a 4-5 year old engine) and they are still having problems.

The day bethesda stops using broken ass gamebryo will be a good day. And maybe then they could actually learn how to properly animate characters on a screen too while they are at it
But they spent so much time and money making an awesome engine that renders foliage really really well!

They dont need to spend money on character animations or writing for that matter
All things considered, Gamebryo is a pretty all around shitty engine. Good thing Bethesda will have access to id Tech 5.

They should have licensed whatever they used for Dragon Age for New Vegas, 3rd Person and/or Isometric, a man can dream can't he?

I'm not sure how keen Bioware would be in helping Bethesda out. Besides, id Tech 5 will crush anything else they could be using, and I see no reason why they wouldn't be using it.
Well I've put two hours into the game without any issues.  A couple sluggish framerate moments when things get hectic and some odd creature AI issues, but I haven't found anything too buggy really.  Much less buggy than Fallout 3 certainly was at the start, but I'm not seeing anything that's game breaking yet.

I killed a radscorpion that had only its tail sticking out of the ground, then I got a cinematic kill and watched it fall through the ground for about 5 seconds. Also realistic mode is fun, but fuck there isn't even a decent piece of armor that I can repair because multiples of it are impossible to find and by the time I actually find someone who can repair it it costs 2000 caps that I don't have. Also can't get into New Vegas without a passport or having 2000 caps cause it keeps out the lowlife.
I'm fiddling around with the south area at the moment, though I had to run back to Goodspring, cause I got royally screwed up by the Legionnaires at Nipton.  Glad I have the Armored Vault suit at the moment lol  Probably gonna head back down after this upcoming Powder Gang fight to explore more before trying to get my way into New Vegas.

You don't have to fight the Legionaries (this is not a typo they actually call them Legionaries in the game and pronounce Caesar as Kyzar) you can avoid it entirely by alking to the guy who comes out of the town hall.
only bugs so far are standard gamebryo shittiness, otherwise the game owns, hard.
So what makes it better than Fallout 3?

Or it good because it IS fallout 3 but with a different scenario (aka good cause it's more of the same)?
Honestly I wasn't crazy about the gameplay in 3 so I might pass on New Vegas even if it has much better design and story.

uhhh, better writing, better wepans, better plot, better balance (cant get 100 in all skills cuz you put 10 in int)

honestly if you take wild wasteland it's basically fallout 2 with a new story
In comparison to Fallout 3, not alot is different.  There's alot more things to get you involved in the game more, but it's still very similar.  I can't see this one converting people that didn't like 3.  I really liked 3, so a whole new area, new weapons, and other assorted enhancements will have me playing this for quite awhile.  Hoping mods can just be put in from 3 without too much extra effort.

*EDIT*
Well came across a pretty harsh bug.  I had a good 5 to 7 hours put into the game, I went to exit, I come back in to the game, those saves have reverted back to ones I had that put me 2 hours into the game.  That...is not cool.
I'm really liking it so far.  I beat a nightkin boss and got his Bumper Sword, which is pretty much an exact replica of Cloud's sword, but with license plates.  Pics later.

There are still annoying bugs though.  I've gotten one where it's impossible to win a game of caravan.  Whenever I decide to discard a card, then all the other options grey out except for "Leave game", so I'm forced to lose all the time.
So anyone who had an account on GoG before they did that shutdown thing gets a free game, Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games. If you already have it, you can use this link to get a different game. I was expecting they'd do this much earlier as a slight apology for 'closing,' but it's still cool. I guess they kinda made up for that with the quality of the games they've released since, though.
nice, i hear jagged alliance is pretty good
The Minecraft dude is going to be a playable character in Super Meat Boy exclusive to the PC.
So, a two man dev team completely showed up all of Sega.

Emerald Hill Montage - Sonic Fan Remix

2.5D remake of Sonic 2, but only 3 acts of the first world (if that makes any sense) are made so far.

Demo Link

Also, remember to bind your "start" button to something else. "Enter" and "return" are two different things apparently...
Sega forced them to take down the first download link within like, a couple hours. They so jealous.

There's another up, much slower though

Seriously though, this is the kind of thing YOU DO NOT ANNOUNCE UNTIL ITS DONE, then once its out in the wilds of the internet good luck getting rid of it.

When will people learn?

Now this is a MMO I really want to see happen.  I don't think there are really any out there that would be like this.  There are tons of Fantasy and Scifi ones, but very few ones based on Earth in some form and especially post-apocalyptic ones.
there's a fanmade fallout mmo out there, and iirc it's just fo1 and fo2 with other people. it is fucking brutal, anyone with a vault suit gets horribly murdered by a million player-raiders.

iunno about this though. mmos really have lost their appeal for me, i probably wont play it past the beta (i signed up for that shit months ago)
