Direct 2 Drive is starting a rental service. 5 dollars for 5 hours of gameplay. It's only available on 3 games right now, so it ain't nothin' spectacular, but it's interesting to see the digital market picking up more on renting. Onlive is already getting loads of money from it. Will Steam follow?

One can also assume that from a lot of major hardware manufacturers like Vizio stating they will build the service into their television, the above estimation of the company's worth, and their well financed plans to spread swiftly out of America to Europe that Onlive is doing something right. I have no idea why every single gamer in the world thinks they are dying or something.

Bulletstorm requires a constant online connection to play.

Edit: Developers at People Can Fly have stated that this is super duper not true. Happy times.
New Steam beta adds an interesting new feature. Press F12 while in your games to take a screenshot that is automatically stored on Steam's servers and viewable on your community page.

Edit: And better voice.

- Changed microphone voice input from 11khz to 16 khz
- Changed voice output from 8khz to 16khz

Remember hearing about some files related to this a while. Good to see steam constantly upgrading. Any word on how many pictures you can store?

I hear it's 1GB. Not bad for free storage of screenshots.

Jeeze, I was thinking like... a couple megabytes. First saw a screenshot from someone and steam just compresses it down to 800x600, then I saw someone hotlink the full sized version at 1920×1080. This is awesome. Big Grin

Knowing valve, they added additional payload without taking steps to compensate for latency, so it's probably worse....

A revolution in military shooters is here.

Duty Calls- the most epically epic game of all time

Nobody really knows what it is. Some marketing thing for Bulletstorm or something, looking at the video description.

Edit: Yeah, it's actually pretty funny.

2. Immersive dialogue from the front lines
3. Cold, calculated realism
4. Killing animations motion captured from real actors
5. True-life reloading system allows for mistakes in putting the cartridge in the gun
6. Iconic sound effects
7. Thwart an enemy threat that could topple the country and possibly the world
8. Significant and historically accurate props
