Miss zombies yet?
As long as they've improved their engine so the game actually works for me, unlike Rage, I'll consider getting it. Not playing in a bunch of enclosed corridors will be nice lol
...So what is this? Gonna attempt to remake a previous doom game? Doom 3 well................... you people will probably shoot me for this but I prefer The Ultimate Doom over Doom 3... and if "Doom 4" is a remake of "Doom 2" I have a horrible feeling it won't even come close...
Though they will win points for the Nazi levels and killing Commander Keen...
I don't know a single person who prefers Doom 3 over classic doom. If I met anyone who did, I'd say they had an awful childhood.

well they both gave me nightmares, so there's that.
170 leaked pictures of Doom 4, mostly of assets like level models and character models. No demons in this particular set.

Edit: Seems like this game is going to feature some characters who aren't you and a bunch of demons. Kind of annoying, but that's how you make an FPS you can sell these days.

Aren't they going to try to make the gameplay more like Doom 2?

Eh, while it's nice, like dubstep not every game calls for You as the hero. Hell, the Doom guy is a great example, I don't know about you guys but I sure as hell can't run at 53 miles per hour, let alone continuously while caring close to a ton and a half of gear. Hell, Half-Life just wouldn't be the same without our friend Gordon.

I didn't really mean "you" in that way.
Pretty cool idea to me, making essentially a cheaper gaming PC/less restrictive console alternative, built around the digital Steam service. Could be neat.
From this day forward, the "Steam Box" shall now be known as the GabeCube.

Nothing can come of this except for more bad console > PC ports and Valve moving away from the PC market altogether. Neither of which is good.
They already made sure to dominate the PC game distribution platform with Steam, we do not need them having that sort of leverage over the PC market while dabbling in a console, which is a direct competitor to Steam (The PC market)
THE MYANS WERE FUCKING RIGHT.
