Can't say I'm really into the art design for this one, but I like dungeon idea of having it taken from Zelda.  Kinda surprised they are just completely ripping it off though lol Could be fun though.
Valve will be updating Steam's content delivery methods to make downloading updates much less painful. Enjoy faster speeds, less downtime, and no 9GB patches for The Witcher 2. Valve will also be adding features such as being able to set download caps for yourself, prioritizing downloads, and even downloading updates for a game while playing said game (to be patched in upon closing).

I would love this so much. Is it already implemented or is this some "soon in valve time" deal?

Coming soon. However, you can give the new content system a go by downloading a trailer off Steam. These are currently using the new methods and should result in faster downloads.
Best part was I couldn't download a trailer faster than 180KB/s with this new and improved system.

Leave it to Valve to boast about a slower system
Not sure where else to put this, but here are my mini reviews of the PC-ports of the assassin's creeds

The first one: Ok port, not that good of a game. Reading up on wikipedia is likely a better decision.

AC2: Much much better than the first, runs like a dream. The only issue is some screen tearing, but that can easily be fixed with vsync or D3Doverrider.

Brotherhood: WHAT HAPPENED!? The last game ran so great, but this is not only buggy after months of release time, but it also runs worse than the last game did. I mean, it's a fun game, pretty much just an extension of 2, but it performs much worse. What more, recently, the controls just stopped responding. I had to end the process just to quit, still haven't figured out what happened. I've crashed on random occasions several times and a horse was walking through some stairs and knocking people over. I'm not too far in the game, but I really hope it's not too glitchy later on.
I've been playing through Brotherhood the past couple weeks with absolutely zero problems. Not sure what's causing your problems.

To be fair, the controller problem might do with me hooking a PS3 controller up to my PC, but it never happened before and the controls still responded elsewhere so I don't know.
the only ps3 controller that should touch a computer is a TE fightstick

I still use my PS2 controllers with an adapter more than my wired 360 controller on my PC Sad

I read that as TIE Flightstick and I was like \o/

The I was =(
So Chantelise, a Zelda-esque action/adventure/rpg thing from the devs of Recettear has just been announced to come out on July 29. The guys who translated and ported the Recettear just released a demo of this "new" game. Only heard about this because I was still subscribed to Carpe Fulgur's RSS feed.

Like... zero marketing whatsoever...
It's kind of a nifty little game, though it has an atrocious control scheme that can't be changed yet.  Can use a controller apparently, but I don't have one to use.  Yeah it seems kinda like a game from the N64 days, but with your character being a 2D sprite in a 3D world.  I'll give it another try later on, but it could be entertaining.

You can change it, just not in game. Look in the installation folder for a custom.exe and you can change stuff from there.

That might make this demo much more enjoyable then.  The lack of mouse support is disappointing, but I'll give it a try.

Both this and Recettear are games that really lend themselves to gamepad. I got this old logitek controller that's basically a ps2 controller and it works perfectly for this game. If ya got a wired xbox controller, that'd work just as well, but you may need to use something like xpadder to get it to work.

Worked fine for me. I was all excited and thought it was the side scroll-y thing they were localizing instead of the crappy 3d one :/

Yeah that platformer looks awesome,  but the demo of Chantelise was really fun though. Lookin forward to it next week.
Take this with a mountain of salt, because if this is another Valve ARG it's fucking intense in a horrifying way. I just want to be able to say I posted it first if it turns into anything. Oh, and if you do load up that map in TF2... Oh man...
