I don't want to overhype it because Terry Gilliam movies almost always hit or miss but Imaginarium of Doctor Pernasus was really good. The ending was a bit meh though, I wonder if they had a better ending but had to change it because of Heath Ledger.

I still really wanna see this... I read a review that suggested seeing it at least 2 times, because its just so full of content.  First time you get to know the characters and basic plot - second time you actually absorb the rest of whats there... he was on his way to see it again bc he knew he'd still pick out things he missed...
pretty impressive for a movie to do that to someone who watches movies for a living Smile

TBH I felt the same way, I'd see it again. Also I think we figured out the ending if anyone wants to discuss it in PMs.

I actually want to see it again. It's one of those movies you like more the more you think about. I'm realizing all kinds of levels you can interpret it on, plus it made me feel like a kid again. Back then I felt like there were movies that told you stories like Princess Bride. Now it's like either whiz bang action, hoighty toighty melodrama, or romance dripping with saccharin.

UP F YES.

Edit: Looking at the Kids/Family section hurts me on the inside.

Double Edit: Nice to see State of Play get some loving in the Thriller category.

BOING!!!
The Book of Eli was a western. A good western....set in the apocalypse.

But seriously, it was fun. Nothing really fantastic about it, but it's not boring by any means. Actions scenes are a ton of fun, both Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman do their parts well, and the acting never gets too bad. Not a perfect movie, but good enough.

Also got free birfday popcorn. It wasn't very good. Sad
I liked Book of Eli, I almost felt it was a wandering samarai movie as much or more than it was a western though. Also I feel like you have to see it twice to catch all the stuff.

I went in expecting a mediocre, gore ridden, post-apocalyptic movie.

What I got was a good, gore ridden, post-apocalyptic movie... Also, I got the same vibe as you when I watched it. The Book of Eli treads in the realm between westerns and samurai movies (Kill Bill, anyone?). Also, Denzel is as bad ass as ever.

Oh, and the milkshake movie was a good one too.

We watched Men Who Stare at Goats...it was so bizarre but really funny.

SHIT

Thanks for reminding me, I totally forgot about that movie!
I watched Man Hunt, and I think I fell asleep for like half an hour. What I remember of the movie was awesome, especially the end.
Everyone should see the swedish movie "Let the right one in"

rumsfald

Lars and the Real Girl.

Watched the Twilight Rifftrax.

Even rifftrax can't make this movie much better. God, I knew this movie was bad going into it...but I had no idea.
