They showed us that movie in afterschool when i was in second grade

what the fuck
I actually watched Spirited Away for the first time very recently as part of a Studio Ghibli voyage of discovery. Others I've watched this year are Nausicaa [kinda counts], Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo. The animation in Spirited Away was just jaw dropping in parts, and the story kept me quite interested. The only visual thing I found a little weird was when Chihiro was running through bushes/plants on the way to where all the pigs were kept. The way that was done just didn't really 'fit' with the overall style IMO.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to watching some of their other films like My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke when I manage to find the DVDs to rent/borrow here.
My Neighbor Totoro was really cute but wasn't huge in scope. It was a very small story. But it really showed one of the things that I find amazing about Studio Ghibli - mannerisms and such are animated. They add little characteristics to the characters to make them feel more real, like knocking their shoes when putting them on. They also add in little details to add to the scenery like if it's an old house the window would be stuck. It's all these little things that really make the movies.
My favorite Ghibli movie is still Castle in the Sky. Easily.
Castle in the Sky was good, but how did Mark Hamil end up there?

Everyone except Harrison Ford seems to have disappeared after Episode 6.
They were all D-List actors before Star Wars anyways.

Inception in Imax, was amazing.
stop talking about inception plz

Chill, all I said was that I saw it and it was good.
The Other Guys was pretty good.

It had plenty of great jokes, but as an actual cohesive film with plot and character development it was pretty awful.

I meant that even by basic Hollywood movie standards it was bad in terms of pacing and editing. It's problems aren't really going to stop anyone from enjoying the comedy, it was just a poorly put together film.

I understand where he's coming from. Overall, the plot's retarded. Then again, they're not trying to make The Departed here, it's just a dumb comedy. I expected something stupid, but there are parts within here that I couldn't figure out what had just happened. But it's no dumber than say The Naked Gun, Airplane, or even Anchorman.

I wouldn't compare it to The Naked Gun or Airplane since those are much more zany and ridiculous and very clearly convey to the audience that they have no intention of presenting a cohesive story, but Anchorman was the first comparison I thought of after leaving the theater. I'm not talking so much about the maturity of the comedy as I am about the quality of the editing and overall plot structure.
